Another new scenario...

The update solves the amphitheatre thing, but you should start a new game after its installation, because the amphitheatre bug required a techtree change.

I think I can win the scenario w/o those amphitheaters. I don't have time to restart the scenario.

btw, descriptions for many Wonders are too long and can't fit in the wonder info box. For example, you can't see the complete desciptions of Alexander's Army wonder and the Army Reform wonder. Is there a way to make the Wonder info box bigger? Thanks.

Thunderfall, you play under MGE? The description error is mainly under MGE, because the descriptions are in the file describe.txt under MGE, under FW directly in the pedia.txt - as in the scenario.
I wasn´t aware of this before I released the scn because I only have FW. After some civers informed me about that problem I ordered MGE to solve the bug, but it has´nt arrived yet, so I can´t solve it soon

Great job BeBro!

yeah, I use MGE. As for the description, I think one way to do it is to shorten the description. Or you can just move the sentence stating the benefit of the Wonder to the beginning of the description...

This is a really great scenario - Since I started playing it, I have lost track of time. It simply is near perfect.
And I was really surprised in 280 BC when the Greek king suddenly showed up in my backyard!!! He really took me by surprise and managed to capture a few cities before I got the situation under control.
Thunderfall: You power graph looks very different from mine, in my game the Persians are nearly gone. Alexander the Great has conquered most of Persia and Greece.
And I am playing in Spain.

I have one problem and that is the sound when my Light Cavalry attacks some of the barbarian unites - it's not there

And since I also play MGE, I can't se all the text for some of the wonders.

Hi guys, and thanks for the comments and suggestions!

And yes, Thunderfall, I´ll shorten the descriptions.

Shadowdale, your Light Cavalry attacks without a sound? In my game they have their sound... please, look into the "Sound" subfolder of the scenario, are there the files "Extra1-8.wav"? These sounds are included in the zip that contains the sounds for the scenario, perhaps it helps when you unzip it again?

For the powergraph, in most of the games I played, Alex conquered a lot of Persia, sometimes all. But I also had one or two games with very strong Persians, that´s civ.

Hey Bebro i have some things that should be fixed to make the scenario better.
Sounds: When you attack a unit of the Independent States it has Gunfire as the sound

satanlook.gif

Gotta fix it

Also in the "Talk to High Council" option the H.C. is in modern age doesn't quite fit the Roman days.
Also what triggers Epikic's(forogt the name) he's the guy that brings Seige Towers and 6other units to your back yard and wreaks havoc, well what triggers him?
Thanks!

SunTzu: King Phyrros(or something) comes in 280 BC. And there is nothing that triggers him, except time - It's a historical fact that he came and thought that he could conquer all of Italy, but the Romans lost a few battles to him and then he gave up!!!

SORRY!!!

I beg for forgiveness.
It's been a while since my list history class - like 5-6 years.

Yup, Pyrrhus (I used the Greek spelling Pyrrhos in the scn) is the first of several events that happen directly in Italy. Later you´ll encounter Hannibal and Spartacus.

To fight Pyrrhos, concentrate your efforts on the siegetowers.

BTW, If one plays as Phoenicians, he´ll encounter even more of such things during the Punic wars. But please don´t check the events files, this would spoil the surprise...

SunTzu, which unit exactly cause the sound thing (gunfire)? I tested the Light Cavalry since Shadowdale mentioned it, but my sounds were ok
confused.gif
, any info about the problem helps me to solve these things

If you are really desperate and if you have lots of units (maybe 8 or 9), you can effectively prevent them from landing in the first place by filling all the coastal squares with units in southern Italy.

Pyrrhus is where the phrase "Pyrrhic Victory" came from because he won several battles, but suffered devastating losses in doing so.

Well at the start of the scenario as the romans, it says after you fight the unit that makes the gunfire sound, "Due to the samnite threat, a legion was recruited"
The unit that you kill to get a legion is the unit that has a gunfire sound as its attack sound.

Hmm, also this problem doesn´t appear in my game...Is there a difference in the sounds between FW and MGE? Let´s hope that my MGE copy arrives soon, then I´ll check that

Oh BeBro,

Damn, that's right...that's you! Jeez, I downloaded it at GeO's site and it is Kick A**! I've been playin' it so much I forgot that I was working on my other scn...

It totally rocks...(I like your setup files they work).

One question...did you draw that cool pic at the start up of the scnenario...with the Roman Centurion?

If so...we need to talk graphics...I'm interested...

I made the title.gif

But its not drawed, its rendered with a 3D graphics software. I took me a lot of time to model the guy and the building, but once this is done, you can render several images pretty fast. Some of the textures (e.g. for the shield) and some corrections or improvements were finally made with a "normal" graphics software...

Here´s a little pedia update. To use one of the files below, rename it to pedia.txt and copy it to the scn´s folder

-for FW: http://home.debitel.net/user/bbrosing/romfiles/FW_PEDIA.txt
(changes: only the description for the Tower of Babel added)

-for MGE: http://home.debitel.net/user/bbrosing/romfiles/MGE_PEDIA.txt
(changes: shortened descriptions, also Tower of Babel added)

Forgot to ask, JValdezToo, what can I do for you (graphics

)?
