Another newbie question

Got another question on Civ 3 . . . city names. I'm getting tired of New Berlin 3 and similar city names based on endless recycling of a limited number of names. Right now, I'm manually renaming the cities as they're built.

Is there any way to edit the list of city names to pre-empt this?

You can change, delete or add to the possible city names using the civIII editor.
In the editor you first have to enable custom rules for your scenario file via Scenario > Custom Rules. After that open the civilizations tab, Rules > Edit > Civilizations… and add city names in the center left edit field aptly named City Names .
Of course the usual problems changing scenario rules remain.

Edit: This won't work for a running game though.
