I got a steam popup about a Civ5 update finishing downloading tonight... has anyone else seen it? It wasn't up long enough for me to read it.

Yeah. It was Civilization V XP2 or something similar to that. Dunno what it is

I also got the notification for that - I think it was for the upcoming 'Scrambled Nations' DLC pack. It doesn't seem to have changed anything though - presumably you have to actually buy the DLC before it will unlock in-game (unless Firaxis/Steam has massively screwed up), and we can't do that until the 5th November anyway.

Probably just something related to the Scrambled Nations DLC, which looks pretty underwhelming to me. Scrambled continents are okay and I bought it because some of the maps are fun, but why would I want to play a nation? Plus I'm sure none of the maps wrap around, which makes them unplayable for me. :(

Update indeed!

Here's the detail from bigden at 2K forums:

There's a small update coming through today that includes:

[LOCALIZATION]
- Added support for Traditional Chinese

[BUGS]
- Fixed some issues with the Pitboss server.
- Corrected some multiplayer lobby issues related to WorldBuilder file names.
- Corrected a multiplayer exploit that could allow humans to steal other humans tradable items.

Anyone else notice the bugs brought about by this hotfix?

If any AI approaches you on their turn for a trade, the cursor is still the 'rotating globe', so you can not click in the text-box to change gold amounts or or gold-per-turn amounts.

When one unit has finished its turn, and the camera 'snaps' to the next unit, now sometimes it only goes half way, not centering on the unit (it may still be off-screen sometimes).

There also seems to be some problem with "click recognition" (my term!) -- sometimes the game registers a click as a double click, and sometimes (when clicking on the mini-map, for example) it will register no click at all.

Grrrrr .......

I've seen the cursor stay on rotating globe for this, but it let me remove items from the AI's proposed deal.

The rotating globe does appear to behave like a regular mouse pointer. Irritating, but far from unplayable.

Confirming Globe... just hard to actually click on stuff with it as wel, it's a damn globe instead of an arrow.

Also all categories inside the trade window are now expanded by default. Looks really ugly, but it is useful in the early/mid game. By the end game where you have a bazillion items to trade it might rather become a nuisance though.

Yeah noticed all those things. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but no one has DoW'd me for earl aggression today. :-P

I noticed the same thing, I thought it was my mouse to malfunction
