when i'm playing it takes ages for all the civs to move their units at the end of each turn. is there any way to just skip this. thanks. jamie.

Well if the animation is on, turn it off. Holding down the shift key (not sure if that is the key) will speed them up. It does not bother me, so I never used the key.

I believe if you press the TAB key, you can skip the animations of the AI moves. It could be the SHIFT key though, I'm not really sure which. In Conquests, the CAPSLOCK is supposed to do the same thing, but you only have to press it once and leave it.

Shift key speeds up animations, except for combat.

You can turn off some of the animation in preferences. I cannot open the game at work, but I believe there are choices for showing moves.

It would be nice option to have attack anime of. Pretty much same style like with Civ II, unit just bumps other unit and it's over in a second.

I believe it has the opposite effect if you still have the animations on. It's either that or the TAB key.

Caps lock works just as if you were holding shift, pretty useful to have it on: it lets you monitor troop movements and not get bored.
