Okay, since 1.29 (and PTW) is presumably months and months away at best, and we've all heard the common complaint of not being able to place civilizations, who can (or knows someone who can) take a crack at Gramphos' "CPT"? It's the "Civ Placement Tool", and I've heard he has open-sourced the code. It probably won't help in making GTOMs playable, but it would be a heckuva bridge for the CivMac community until we got v1.29.

My first and obvious question: Senecasax (aren't you glad you told us you tinker with code?), have you heard of, seen, or otherwise interested in messing with this?

That's where I got the decompression code I used to decompress SAV's. I've got the source, but a few spots seem to be causing trouble - basically, the entire Windows API needs thrown out the window and replaced with native Carbon or Cocoa code (or just command-line). The rest of the code should be reuseable, once i figure out how the data structures for the SAV files are stored in his program. As I said in the mapstat thread, I do have 18 hours this semester... Maybe by next month I might have scraped enough time together to get something done on this.

Cool, amigo.

18 hours?! Good heavens. 18 hours in a semester was what made like cheap beer when I was in college. Good luck, man.

Hey, I took 20 one semester including two lab courses. Of course, that was the semester that made me swear off EVER taking more than a standard load again...
