Anti-Roman Strategies

Once again, while what you have said is somewhat true, none of it has any bearing on the Warlords expansion. Your claim was that Praets are "more invincible" thanks to the bonus Chariots get against Axes. The only time that is true is if you are able to attack Axes without Spears to back them up. My point is that that situation is going to be quite rare, and doesn't really have an impact on Praets. It doesn't really make them any more "invincible" than they were before.

Maybe I'll take back the claim inclusion of a few improved chariots will make Praets more invincible, but the addition of their anti-axe bonus certainly take away the possibility of building only shock-axemen. People need to divert some of their resource to build some spears regardless the Roman player really build chariots or not. This still plays in favor of the Roman player.

And as I say, inclusion of some chariots can make your army move faster, particularly pillaging is the primary goal.

I'd agree with that, for the most part. Although I'd have to say that if you are playing the Romans and bothering with Pillaging, you are missing out. :)
