Any Deity Stats and Trends?

Hello Everyone,

So I have been playing on Deity to challenge myself and to better understand the game. One of the problems I encounter however is the few times where I start the game out particularly well, I am reluctant to finish it out because I do not have reasonable expectations for what the end game looks like. I play so few games into the industrial/modern era, that I don't have any real information on some important aspects of AI play.

So I had a few questions:

1.) Is there any thread or site that tracks deity game stats and trends (for an example of what type of stats/trends I am looking for, see the questions below)?

2.) I play on standard settings, is there any basic guideline for the fastest a deity AI will win the game (in turns)? The average time a deity AI will win the game? The latest a deity AI will win the game? I realize it will vary, but just having some rough guidelines will better help me understand what kind of timeline I am on.

3.) Are there any guidelines on how many turns it takes a deity AI to typically complete spaceship parts after entering the two final eras?

4.) Are there any guidelines for what will prompt a deity to use nukes? How soon after completion of the Manhattan Project can you expect nukes to be in play?

5.) Are there any stats on approximately what turn ranges you can expect deity AIs to complete wonders? I keep my own stats through the renaissance, but I have too few data points later.

Generally I am looking for information like that so I can feel better prepared for what the deity end-game looks like without having to play an inordinate number of games. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Ya, that kind of information on a table would be awesome. Even a thread or a few threads just for tracking that type of info would be great.

Oh, I don't have enough samples either. All I can tell you is the game could end as soon as 270 or as late as 350, but the average is more typical. The turn times for the better wonders or earlier wonders have been identified pretty accurately in some of the strategy threads. Sometimes it can take the AI a long time to get to the Future Era, even after it's completed Apollo. The nukes start flying just as soon as they get it mined, but that number probably changes with each civ. The civs with high nuke flavors will buy them and build them. Some will never build them.

I am not sure such guidelines would help that much, i just had a game where the GL was completed on turn 183

On Deity? It would be nice to know about the wonders mostly. Every now and again you try to build one that you normally don't build, so it would be good to see what the average time is for that wonder to go. Averages and extremes (like yours) are also interesting... maybe just to me:lol:.

Guidelines/Stats assume the most common or average occurence. Turn 183 is clearly an outlier and wouldn't even need to be considered. Just because you had a spike, doesn't mean the guidelines wouldn't help much. On deity, given standard settings the GL gets build by turn X; that is what the OP is looking for and would indeed be a helpful guideline.

mercury529, I'd advise you to look at some LP's Deity

It would take a lot of viewing to find a decent average this way :) With any luck some regular Deity players will see this thread and be able to give numbers for at least the popular stuff like typical time to build the GL.

Hello Everyone,

fastest. 250-260 science (AI gets Porcelain and gets big)
average. 290-330 science/diplo
latest. 350 max. Can you stop them from winning? If yes you can win any turn you like. It usually involves conquest (stealth and/or nukes) of the ones going for science/culture and not enough city states arround for a diplo.

3.) Are there any guidelines on how many turns it takes a deity AI to typically complete spaceship parts after entering the two final eras?

Atleast 50 turns in modern, propably more. Industrial goes faster.

4.) Are there any guidelines for what will prompt a deity to use nukes? How soon after completion of the Manhattan Project can you expect nukes to be in play?

Guessing around 10-15 turns. Not sure

5.) Are there any stats on approximately what turn ranges you can expect deity AIs to complete wonders? I keep my own stats through the renaissance, but I have too few data points later.

Not really possible to say. It varies too much

ive seen the GL go as late a 150 on deity, but that is the extreme example. 90% of my game it goes pre-50 and the earliest on deity i saw it was turn 28. (some have seen as soon as 24 i think.)

I've never seen that (very late GL). I can imagine the type of game that would happen in though. I usually bail out of those. Variables like individual player decisions, opponents, maps, etc., would have some effect on the trends, but RNG (like when most of the AI decide to role-play Hitler) really screws things up.
