I posted this a long time ago, as did others but I still need help!

My game used to play after the first patch and would crash in the later centuries. Patch 1.52 created an error when I attempted to load a saved game or open a new game. Patch 1.61 did not resolve this error. Therefore, I still cannot play the game at all (no new or old games) can load. As soon as a game is finished loading there is an immediate CTD with the following:

"ERROR
Failed to allocate video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings. File:\Source\main\Civilization4\SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9RenderedTextureData.cpp, Line:170"

Which then results in a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library "Runtime Error" because the application requested Runtime to terminate in an unusal way.

I have posted my specs many times and don't remember how to post a dx log should you need it. But my general specs are:

DELL LAPTOP
3.06 GHz P4
768 MB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
approx. 40GB HD
XP SP2

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This did NOT work with 1.52 patch, but it does with 1.61 for me and may for anyone else with this error.

Simply go in and change your resolution settings to Low under "Advanced" and "Options" from the main in-game menu.

This allows me to play for the first time in months!!

Good luck to anyone else that hasn't been able to play until this patch was released.
