Italy and very proud of it V_V
I'm playing this scenario with Maria Theresa, I annexed Vatican City and Prague with the Diplomatic Marriage, and I got allied with all the other city states (and win the election)
I tried to conquest Byzantium but it's quite impossible from Europe, I'll try with Netherlands...
Any strategy or advice?

Even on standard speed you should be fine taking over the Byzantines as the Austrians.

First, diplo marry (or just ally at low levels) the Vatican for that sweet Papal Primacy.
Also choose Aesthetics with your first 3 policies. That makes you friends with all Catholic CSs.

After that, build up, expand, prepare. Then later (after Civil Service and maybe Physics) Diplo Marry all CSs near you (Prague/Budapest/Bucharest/Warsaw generally) and take those armies down to visit Constantinople.

Into the Renaissance is surprisingly hard. Even with the inane AI, it felt like the Mongol scenario (i.e. racing to kill everyone).

How many Holy Cities are you supposed to have to win?

Having a good computer is a pretty decent strategy for this scenario.

yes. It's very important not to try to play this one with high end graphic/DX11/whatever if you can't play on huge maps with lots of civs in a normal game.

but some parts of that seem to have been fixed, given that I can load late game saves for that scenario (late game = turn 190ish) and my system doesn't die anymore due to it being a huge map.
