Maybe load helicopters in a carrier, with one paratrooper in each of them?
Bring the carrier near enemy coasts and launch the helicopters to drop paratroopers in a deep inside city. That doesn't seem very cost effective though because you can only have one paratrooper in an helicopter.
Any better use ?

Apparently carriers can not hold helicopters so even this stratedgy does not work.

I find that paratroopers are good on the smaller maps. When you go on the offensive you can dump your troops around a city to prevent reinforcements while you assault the city. It is also pretty handy to drop one or two into the mountains to be a ***** to take down.

Helicopters can be used in the same way however their effective ranges makes them not as effective.

I personally haven't used them yet. But I think one good use would be to pillage strategic resources deep in enemy territory. Take out that rubber of theirs so they can't draft a bunch infantry once you start attacking them.

Helicopters are pretty useless other then to extend the range into enemy territory (there really should be some kind of attack chopper in game like smac), paratroopers make for good solid defenders as they suffer no move penalty in airport airlifts, which is a good way of getting a little extra muscle in a blitz.

I have used paratroopers to take that darn last city on an island off the coast.

I raze all the cities but the one closest to the island, quell resistance, rush a paratrooper, and drop it on the island.

Use bombers and navel units to strip the defences and attack.

This is the only use.

Paratroopers should have the ability to move after their drop and helicopters to go on carriers and have a better range for air drops.
Out of the subject: marines should by able to perform in surprises attacks( that mean go in hostile terratories without be view by the enemy only by the others units) and ''Amphibious'' attacks ( I don't know the word for this one) from forests, mountains.

Helicopters, are best used to send on recon missions, after they get blown up, by enemy jets, your bombers have free rain for a turn. At least until the patch corrects air cover.
I used this technique to take out an Army threatening my boarders.
As for paratroopers.... Only when a close enemy needs humbling. Have 4 troopers brought in on rail and then hit luxuries and resourcese...
Marines are good at capturing Settlers and workers, from a transport. Any unit thrown out of a helicopter, is just a distraction. Unless, your opponent is still useing Knights...
