Anybody got PTW yet?

Well, apparently Savannah is moving up in the world as, when I went to pick up my copy yesterday after work, there was actually somebody else there to buy PTW at the same time as me! So that's at least two here..

Though, to us southerners, he was a carpetbagger - he was wearing a West Chester sweatshirt. Damn Yankees! :)

(We talked a little bit, though, and he admitted he was buying it more for the scenario ability than the multiplayer - much like I was just buying it for the new civs and the new victory conditions.)

Well in Chicagoland 3 different Best Buy stores were clueless to its existence. CompUSA and Circuit City didn't have it yet. But luckily, last night I found an Electronics Boutique that did have a copy. Started a game as Scandanavians last night. I agree with others that the Beserk is cool.

Picked mine up at Elec. Boutique around 6 last night. They hadn't even moved them out of the storeroom yet, but had sold all but 5 by the time I arrived.

I see lots of CIV3 GOTY boxes but most of the stores say they haven't even ordered it. Since we are waiting for PTW, we don't want GOTY, and I think some stores are thinking, "That other Civ3 box didn't move, so why order another Civ3 box?"

I still am without PTW. I went to Walmart on Tue., and, as reported by a few others, they had the sticker on the shelf, but had not received the game. On Wed., I went to Best Buy, and although they had the strategy guide (who needs it when you have such a wonderful forum as this), they did not have the game. I then went to Target, although not optimistically. Nothing doing in the 7th there. Then, the most disappointing of all: I went to Babbages, and the attendant said that they had no information about the game after she ran a query. I think she mistyped it, but the bottom line was that there was no PTW there. Finally, I went to Walmart again today, and wow, I saw a game from afar right next to GOTY and above the sticker for PTW. As I neared, one of the most horrorful things in recent memory came into view: Deer Hunter, the biggest waste of computer programming in the history of computer games, was in the wrong place! After passing out, and refusing the ambulance (j/k), I made it out of the store on my own two feet. I have decided that I'll just exercise some patience, order it from Amazon.com w/free shipping (albeit slow shipping), and continue enjoying the best game I've ever owned, with that of course being Civ III.

I picked up mine at the EB Games at the Wesminster Mall in SoCal. However, it was the last one!

I live in a small town in sweden...and if Ribannah gets it before crissmas 2003, i probably be able to buy it in a local store about when civ5 hits the shelves in the us...im sad :(
