[GS] Anyone else just waiting for the next patch / expansion?

Got it...
I found a new way to play that has become quite engaging for me and I’m just not fussed about moar for the moment.

and I understand.
... and it is interesting to note this new way to play. I have to keep it in mind and try it asap... :)

Since the last patch the game has been consistently fun. In fact I've probably been playing TOO much. I need to cut back a bit

There are still some things I would like to see. Like on higher difficulties I wish the AI would play better instead of simply getting a massive head start. But I'm not holding my breath for that.

Well, I’ll say one thing: I’m glad to hear so many people have found the game fun after the last patch, regardless of whether it’s because of the patch or just finding more interesting ways to play.

... metal on in the background...

Love it.

I definitely had a period from early spring (i live in a cold place so, late march) to about mid june where I just couldn't get into any civ games. Then I started to a get a little flare of interest, coincidentally the new patch, then I played like 100 hours of industrialization fever, which was very fun.
I'm stepping back a little, although the new patch has really done a lot of good. Hopefully we get more like it. If they announce new DLC I'll rev up the hype train again.

The game was feeling stale to me but after the last patch I'm back on it with a vengeance. Granted I'm on vacation so I have the time (and concentration) to devote to it but there's no doubt the game is playing a whole lot better. In particular I love the changes regarding battering rams/siege towers/mounted units. The pantheon tweaks really helped too; no more abusing Goddess of the Harvest and a huge buff to Religious Settlements. The slower tech pace fills out the game and I like it that I can work tiles for production rather than just chopping all the time. The diplomacy is (mostly) working extremely well for me. All in all a lot of good things to be happy about. We all need a break sometimes though, I'm just at the opposite end of that cycle :p
