For Canadian customers, I think there are two versions being sold. One is the normal edition, and the other is the Collector's Edition. The former being sold for $59.99CND and the latter for $79.99CND (at the local EB). Supposedly, the normal edition should arrive today (25th) and the collector's on the 27th. I went to check the local EB at 10:30AM EST (it's 1:39PM EST at the time of posting), and the clerk there said "probably today, but it's weird since that the shipment tracking doesn't appear in our computer systems."

I personally didn't see a Collector's Edition on sale in US-based websites. I'm guessing that the US pre-sale edition is the Canadian Collector's Edition, since the pre-sale edition's contents seems to fit that of a normal Collector's Edition's contents (soundtrack, better instruction manuals, tech tree poster, etc...). So I guess we Canadians get screwed...but oh well, it was made in the States, so we can't complain about the developers showing some nationalism there.

If I remember rightly didn't the gld notice say "shipped to retailers on 25Oct2005" dowsn't that mean they didn't ship it till today?? so unless you are right next to a shipping center you wont get ti today. One of my local walmarts said they had it in yesterday, but the guy on the phone was lieing, and today he is getting it from me, Walmart is evil walmart employees=sum of that evil. I'll take my business to target or some other shop from now on.

Best Buy is selling it for one day (I presume the 27th, as that is the day they list it being available) at $49.99 CND.

Just called 2 local Target stores in Chicago and neither have it. The first said they were supposed to get it today and did not.

I guess we are all S.O.L. for today, unless there are some afternoon deliveries.

I was told it was the other way around the special addition is supposed to be in today and the regular version will be out on the 27th. Also they dont cost any diffrent I ordered the special addition cost me the same amount 59.99

I would try to get more information from this co-worker.

I work in Wayne NJ and have spent the morning/afternoon manning the phones calling (annoying?) all the gaming stores: EBs (there are 2), Software Etc. (there's 1 and they do not sell newly released games), Gamestop (there are 2), and Funcoland (of which there is only 1 and they do not sell PC games). Everyone who would sell the game has the arrival date of tomorrow (10/26).

There are no Walmarts or Best Buys in Wayne either.

i just called every eb within a 45 min transit ride (roughtly)... there's one in etobicoke that expects it in within the hour... he said his shipment should get there around 3pm.

it's a long way for me, but if you're in missisauga... you may be close... it's on the east mall.

I'm going to try calling Square One, Yorkdale (around where I work), and Erin Mills...I'll keep people posted about availability at these locations.

I was just in my local EB Games just outside of Edmonton. They hadn't received it yet, but a Purolator truck pulled up just as I was leaving and unloaded about 10 boxes for them. I couldnt stick around to see if CIV4 was included but I'm going to check back after work.

I called around to three GameStop/EBs in Manhattan... two said tomorrow (10/25) and one said they'd have it after noon... TODAY. I'll probably be disappointed, but I'm jumping on the subway on my lunch break to see for myself.

I called several in Queens and Manhattan. All but one said they'd have it tomorrow. One store claimed they'd have it today, but I'm willing to bet that the person I spoke to didn't pay attention to the update or was gambling that they'd get it before they close today.

could be. one gamestop employee swore they had it out back and when he went to check to see how many copies in the computer to see if one was not reserved, he realized they wouldn't be getting them til tomorrow. thankfully this was over the phone, so no real harm.

When I pre-ordered mine a week ago, the manager of the Software Etc. swore it would be here on Tuesday. I told him then it wouldn't be here until Wed. I just called him; yep, tmw. When I laughed and reminded him about our previous conversation, he said, "Everybody else was right, and our computers were wrong."

The point is, the poor guys running these stores don't know as much as the Civ Fanatics.

The store I ordered from has not yet received their afternoon shipments. If they actually do have copies of CivIV in the shipment, then I'll likely get a call before I leave work or on the way home. Of course, I'll probably call before I leave, anyway...just in case.
