I am playing the steam version of the base game, single player, and had saved yesterday morning. Then in the evening yesterday, I played again for maybe an hour and distinctly remember saving, and in addition I always press F5 for autosave, and then went to bed. This morning I was shocked to find that all Savegame files (i.e.including Quicksave and autosave) had dates from only my morning session the previous day! If this is a common bug it is a deal-killer for me and there is no point playing Civ 6 any more.
