This really freaked me out, but let me tell you my story:

That night I had played about 4 hours of Civ 3 and I was so tired since it was 12 , I decided to go to bed. That night I had a Civ 3 dream. In my other thread I talk about how the other Civs won't trade with me. In the game that had been my greatest downfall, since I broke treaties and no one would trade with me for nothing. I read that quick thread right before I went to bed.

So here's how the dream went. It might have been longer, but this is all I remembered: I was doing something on the map, I open up my diplomacy screen and I click on the Chinese. I try to trade silks for horses, but I can't. The same message pops up, saying "They would never accept such a deal." and the Chinese guy says "We remember what you did to the Egyptians, we would never trust you." so I keep clicking it until finally an option pops up saying "Oh come on, that was like 30 years ago, you can trust us now." and I click it and he accepts.

That's all I remember, and it's been very scary to think about it how I'm starting to dream about games. No more 4 hour sessions before going to bed anymore.

Anyone have anything similar to share?

Yeah, I dream about Civ or other games I play sometimes when I've been playing them a lot. Usually not like yours - I just keep playing the game in my dreams.

Yes, I find this has been a problem ever since the days of SimCity 2000. When I play a game for too long and then go to sleep, I simply cannot help myself from having dreams about it. Even right before I wake up I will often still be dreaming about the game.

I once had a dream in a grid! I could only move once every year, though... :hmm:

... and I thought that only happened to me. One time I had a dream that I was playing civ4 ;).

Every month or few weeks, I dream up a level for a scenario I'm designing for an RPG I've played.

I do dream of civ from time to time. Then I decide to let the game rest for a while (couple of days). Don't want to end up in a nuthouse...

No, I never dreamt about it, but I happened once to me after a late session with heavy warmongering that after going to bed and closing my eyes, I could still see marauding Chinese Riders...

Me too! After a long night of playing Civ III, I had a dream that was totally unrelated to Civ, but the whole thing took place on a Civ III-like grid. Creepy!

I had a dream where a warrior appeared and went, 'Ha ha!' and then walked off. Strange, because it happened in the middle of a dream i was having just randomly.

Perhaps you guys should play with the grid off for a while? It sounds to me that the grid is to blame here, rather than Civ!

When my wife heard about this thread, she said that she's had dreams about playing Civ3 (she plays too).

Heh heh, you all cracked me really   I've never managed to see Civ dreams, but I'm not control freak like you bunch of control freaks are  ;)

@Wolfwood: Your wife plays Civ too, that's cool (well I guess) :goodjob: Lucky beast you are.

I once dreamed I beat you all on multiplayer! (or some of you...)

wellcome to the club man :crazyeye:

I once had a dream that I started a new game, and my settler was off the map (it was no wrapping)! I was like "OMG this is not good!" I was moving my settler back onto the map, and a barb came and killed my settler. I was so mad I woke up.

I have Civ dreams too. Usually after a long day of playing. They seem to be most often in the short time after I first fall alseep. Wierd. I used to play Medal of Honor a lot and those dreams were scary. I cannot tell you the number of time some German shot me in my dreams.

I often awaken from dreams that are almost normal, but happen within a grid and/or moves per turn. :crazyeye:

No. But I did have this dream about holding a copy of Civ 5 (interestingly enough, I recall it having similar cover art to the current planned art for Civ IV...) in my hands, and almost running out of a store with it.

This was back when I had Civ 2. Big aspirations.
