Anyone having a pseudo CTD? Game minimizes for no reason?

A few times now - post 1.09 patch - I have had the game minimize itself and reveal the desktop with no other programs running and no action on my behalf.

My system is virus and spyware free (something I keep on top of), and no other game/program does this.

I tend to play mostly with the mouse and my hand off the keybaord, so I haven't been hitting the windows key by accident or anything, so I'm wondering if anyone else is having this?

Not seen that at all. I play nearly exclusively with the mouse (although I do sometimes hit space or enter) too. I'm in windowed mode, are you?

Yes, I have had this happen too, but I cant remember the specific circumstances. It will minimize and I can hear the music as well.

Yes, but then it immediately restores itself to full-screen and then starts oscillating between a black screen and a very dark grey screen.

If I hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete i can usually bring it under control (after a long delay).

I'm currently getting massive slowdowns upon discovering the AI civilizations (nothing else, no map trading, just discovering them), and if I minimize the game (window key) and then immediately bring it back up again ... no other interaction going on ... the game is restored to normal speed. Go figure.

Currently playing in FULL SCREEN mode, but I haven't had a CTD, so i guess I should just count myself lucky.

I am having a similar problem. It was new to v1.09 - pity, since I had had no problems on 1.00. I only upgraded because I had to to play 4OTM.

mine happens after playing for an extended period, say 2 to 3 hours. I often experience a signifcant slowdown. I usually get back in, and save immediately, then exit and reload.

I had this happen to me on version 1.00. Doesn't happen since patching to 1.09... now I get full CTDs

so who knows
