[TOT] Adjusted a setting in ToTPP, and now the game runs really slow

I turned off the extra difficulty levels to see if it would make the AI civs fight each other again, but all it did was slow down the game to 1998 speeds, and lowering my mouse pointer to activate the task bar, the taskbar flashes rapidly, and the borders of the map window are missing. Plus it seems the game is trying to use Aero, which doesn't exist on windows 11, iirc?

I have a beefy-ish pc, so this shouldn't be happening.

Seems like I needed to do the following to speed it up again:

ToTPP: Properties > Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 and grant user admin

Civ 2: Properties > Set compatibility mode to Windows XP SP 3 and grant user admin

Launch ToTPP, save & exit.

Might take more than one try to fix the slowness.

Now, I still need to figure out why the AI refuses to fight each other, and why the main map borders are missing
