This isn't really a technical support question, as it's not really about whether or not the game works in ultrawide. Question is more about the experience of ultrawide while playing Civ, to me it seems Civ and ultrawide are made for each other. Currently i am using a 28 inch 16:10 monitor, which to me, prior to considering ultrawide, was the Civ sweet spot with the added height of the screen. But all that width of the ultrawide seems perfect for civ considering less dragging around the map one would have to do.

Thoughts? Experiences?

my wife just had a baby, and she can't breast feed. So I've been helping doing the middle of the night bottle feeds. To save time I connected my laptop to my 65inch 4k tv, I just leave it in sleep mode. Give the mouse a little wiggle and I'm good to go. So at feed time I sit up on the couch while she feeds and conquer the world. I'm not a tech guy, so I'm not sure exactly what resolution the game is actually displayed at, but i can honestly say I dont think I could go back to a regular screen. I love it

That was the best introduction to an answer to a screen format question I have ever read! XD
haha. Got to justify 65 inches of civ. It is a little extreme. But I can testify to the immersion. It feels so much better to play

Compared to a 16:9 computer monitor (eg. 27'' in FullHD) and its bigger variants (16:10, 21:9) provides a appropriate TV with same pixel size (eg. 55'' in 4k-ultraHD) much more space: "32:18"

And 4k-TVs became SO inexpensive!

I'm using a cheap 48'' TV for surfing and all other computer works since years ago and got used to it ... the "normal" monitors feel really tiny now. So 65'' seems not extreme to me, at least not for CIV :D

32:18 is the same as 16:9, isn't it? Are you getting twice as much map info when zoomed out?

If the game would let you zoom out farther, then a huge 4k TV really would be ideal. I have a 65" but not a 4k, I tried loading the game on it but the resolution was all messed up and I didn't feel like tinkering.

I have a 21:9 ultrawide at 1440p resolution.

Civ6 is awesome. First, it actually SUPPORTS ultrawide, which is rare in video games. Second, the fact that in the UI the toolbars tend to come out from the sides of the screen means you get tons of real estate left in the middle.

Also, I think that with the default UI when you pull up a right-side menu (like production, or purchase with gold) the menu actually covers up the GUI in the bottom right (where your selected unit/city info is). However, I think that with CQUI the bottom right element actually moves inward when the right side menu is open so that there is no coverage. I remember the overlap being an issue when I first bought the game - I don't notice it anymore so either CQUI fixed it or I just got used it it.

Now that said, 21:9 at 1440p is a lot of pixes to push. My poor GTX 780 can't keep up sometimes :(

32:18 is the same as 16:9, isn't it?
Yes, as the ratio is the same, I used the quotes "32:18" to maintain the magic of the bigger numbers ... [btw, you implied the 16:10 "with the added height" (at same width) and the 21:9 "ultrawide seems perfect for civ considering less dragging around the map" (at same height) being bigger screens, too]
My point was the higher pressure in the TV market than in the computer monitor market and the price-performance ratio of displays. (TVs skipping 1440p and see 2160p now @ competitive prices, whats next? 8k!)

DEMO: Farther Zoom mod for Civilization VI

I've got a curved 34" LG and Civ6 looks great in Ultrawide. That being said, I usually shrink the resolution down and play in windowed mode. I like to switch in and out.
