I'm a little stumped about what game to get next.
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion looks as interesting as all the other Elder Scrolls games, but unfortunately, I hated the combat mechanics in Elder Scrolls 2, I hated the combat mechanics in Elder Scrolls 3, and so I'm probably going to hate the combat mechanics in Oblivion. Additionally, it just doesn't feel like a PC RPG when you only have one player in your party. Too bad. I love pretty much everything else I've heard about the game.
Neverwinter Nights 2 looked interesting, until I started talking to people who actually bought it. Word on the street is that this one is a big stinking dud. That's really too bad, because I've played an awful lot of "action" RPGs and it would be nice to play a proper CRPG (D&D rules at that) with a proper party and everything. Meh.
Company of Heroes looks sweet as hell, but after trying the demo, I remember why I prefer turn-based strategy games over real-time.
So the list of games likely to appeal to me is narrowing.
Has anyone tried out Marvel: Ultimate Alliance yet?
It's yet another "action" RPG (oh how I yearn for the real thing), and worse, it's a console port, but I did enjoy the demo for X-Men Legends 2.
How is it? How is it on the PC?
