Orange Cycloptic Blob
I just recently saw the movie Dogville and I really liked it. It was very unlike all the other movies I've seen. Except for some time in the beginning, the movie was also kept interesting at all times, despite the 3 hours.
For those who have not seen it, it's about a woman who has fled to a small american town (by the name Dogville) in the 30's (I think it is), and how she's treated. There are no pieces of scenery, the whole movie takes place in one black room where all the houses and rooms are painted as lines on the floor and you can at all times see what's going on in all the other parts of the town. It's a bit like a theatre, with cameras on the stage. Some of the actors are Nicole Kidman, Paul Bettany and Stellan Skarsgård, director is Lars von Trier.
I wonder what other people think of this kind of movies, because movies usually try to be as real as possible when it comes to scenery. Was this a one-time thing, or shall we expect to see more movies like this in the future? It wouldn't have been the same as a theatre, because the audience couldn't have been on the stage, and when watching it you soon forget the theatre-like feeling.
