Anyone who knows about 20th Century Battles, I need some help

So, in the game of Paintball, we have these things called "Scenarios". There's a field, storyline, positions (i.e. Generals, Tanks, etc), and they last for anywhere from 8 hours to sometimes 2 days.

Well we have a local field here, and I'd like to come up with a Scenario for it. Attached is a map of the field. Any battle would work, but I think it's best suited for either WWII or Korea. So, I need your help. Based on the map below, do any battle come to mind that kind of looked like that? Like, with the 3 bases, woods, etc? Terrain can be changed (i.e. WWII snow can be field grass).

Below is a diagram of the field. The Green is fairly thick forest, the brown is an area of dead grass, buches, and a few palm trees. The blue line is just a path; pink is out of bounds. The white part of the field is just normal grass and dirt. The little black marks represent bunkers, but aren't exaclty where the bunkers are.


This is my example for a gametype, but this one'll only last 45 minutes. It's the Battle of the Bulge (Allies on top in the forest, Germans attacking the forest). The red line is out-of-bounds.

Hmmm... maybe the Battle of Dien Bien Phu? The French were in a poorly defended clearing surrounded by jungle hills. The Vietnamese came down and absolutely crushed them. From before the Vietnam war.

Without the bunkers you could duplicate part of the Winter War between Finland and the USSR in 1939. The Finns are occupying trenches just in front of the treeline. They have perhaps two platoons (40 men) with two machine guns, the rest have rifles. Each Finn has a helmet and a white camoflage uniform and several grenades.

The Soviets have perhaps 500 men. There are no machine guns and rifle ammunition may be limited. The Soviets have olive drab uniforms and only have cloth hats and no helmets. The Soviets must advance from the very bottom of the map standing up in clusters. Spreading out and "creepy crawly" is not allowed.

The Soviets win if they occupy the entire Finnish position. Anything else is a draw. Time limit: 30 minutes.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused...could you draw it on the map? I pretty much understand what you're saying, I just don't get the whole picture. It'd probably be 30 Moderate-Good players, against 70 noobs-ok players.

Wow, thanks, that helped a lot! That treeline is a pretty big one, We'd have to spread out the "Finns"...it'd be 20 Finns vs. the rest are Soviets. No bases would be aloud. People still wear their normal clothes, just because you can't coordinate everyone.

You could of course make it even more realistic by giving the finns molotov cocktails and birch trees with which they would try to stop the soviet tanks.

Not forgetting that soviets would have to be given drinks of vodka for couragement before the attack and while doing the attack they would yell "Uraaaaaa!". Some of the soviets could be the members of Politbyro who would shot those not willing to move forward quickly enough.

Too bad the soviet artillery cannot be duped.

Lol! I Would, but the park would probably get closed down because 75% of the players are under 21, including me!

You are on to something! I may use this for a "handicap" match in our games of Air Soft. We use Airsoft instead of Paintball guns because they are cheaper, lighter, and, well, they're cheaper. You can throw them around (like across a gap, for instance), they look like real guns so we get a different feel when we play ( not essential, but it's got class), and, like I said, it's cheaper!
Also, a .1 gram plastic bb hurts a bit less than a paintball, so we don't really have to worry aobut facemasks, but the issue of high pain tolerances sometimes brings up the "No you didn't shoot me!" issue. But not that often.
