Hi all, just wanted to let everyone know that the next version of AoD2 will include components of the LooF mod. :)

Many thanks to Jenks for agreeing to the joining of our two great mods. It is our hope that this merge will open the mod to more players and provide an even better environment to explore the Colonisation period in.

Great stuff! The last great hurdle for Civ4Col games is the unbalanced founding fathers. Some are must-have guys, some are worthless. It's good to see a little more balance between the highs and the lows.

Cheers, --- Wheldrake

So the xml changes like more defend on river/sea will also be included? And not just the FF changes?

So should all components of LooF be merged in, or just the FF's?

Add more of the original col music, and maybe other music from civ that fit. I want more variation.

jenks should list all the changes he wants that is not in AoF2. Some of the looks very cool. Like more promotions.

If I were to add new graphics/pedia for my more buildings mod. Could it also be merged? But default config has same or almost same starting buildings as now (but an alternativ slower start can be used).

Not from Aod2 or Loof, but the unit that was added in the Triangle Trade, the "Coastal Trader" would be a nice feature :)

In answer to a query from Apolyton - can't seem to post there at present

Dale,

Please do, because it is unclear to me which are the currently active changes at LooF.

Also do you know, if % increases in LB production, crosses and purchasing indian lands, stack, cummulate, or is it just the highest % which dominates?

To my understanding the highest % only applies. Jenks says all FFs are now useful, but I am not sure, I have a feeling the better % will cancel old %s. Can we clear this out please?

A couple other comments as well, but I am not sure about which are the active current changes.

Yes it allows you to focus your strategy/specialise by multiplying FF together. I've tested the accumulators where I can see effects, and yes they all add up.

The +% modifiers accumulate, each applying a new trait to the leader with the FF (hover over the production/resource and you will just see the FF's name and the bonus they apply). No limit I have seen as yet as to how many traits can be applied to a leader/civ at any given time.

-------

So, you can get all the FF with +ve native attitude modifiers to accumulate to get around a +6 modifier to relations.

Its difficult to test effects on discounted Indian land purchasing as it isn't listed or visible anywhere. But I definately notice a drop off in prices when settling a new colony, even after getting Minuit (-60%), adding Pocahontas say (-10%).

If you get England, Lord Baltimore, William Brewster, & Thomas Hooker - that gives you -25% crosses required for migrants in Europe, +50% crosses (+ additional +%crosses by tax rate), and +75% production of churches and cathedrals. Get a preacher working and Hello immigrants :)
