 The basic stats look ok. 2.0GHz Cleron precessor(Whats the difference between pentium and cleron?) and 256MB of DDR RAM. All at $299.99. Through you have to sign a contract saying you will become an aol member for at least 12 months. And if you cancell your service before 30 days you have to return the computer after 30 days you have to pay cancellation fees.

Crap. Another source of income for AOL.

The Celeron is a modified (crippled?) Pentium4. It has half the L2 cache of the equivalent P4, and is slower than the equivalent AMD Duron. It is good for entry-level desktops.

And that's $299 PLUS $23.90 per month for 12 months; a total of $585.80, not counting taxes, shipping, and handling. Not a *bad* price, but I can probably build an equivalent computer for less than that. ;)

I guess we aren't really the target market...

I can sense a blatant contradiction here.

A side note: selling this kind of a PC with an Internet connection would probably be illegal in my home country (Finland), because many aspects of tie-in sales are outlawed here.
