Well, guess I get to be the first bug report. I've experienced the game freezing up a few times already, just finally copied the event data this time...

In this instance, I had been in the city screen, hit the 'Return to Map' option, nothing happened, game stopped responding to any inputs. Had to go to the Task Manager to kill Civ V. Here's the report:

I've also experienced the same thing with the discovery of Animal Husbandry, although after a reload, I was able to progress through that with no problems.

System specs:

Win 7 Ultimate x64
E8500 Core 2 Duo
8gb RAM
(2) 8800GTS 640mb
X-Fi

If there's any missing pertinent data, let me know.

On an unrelated subject, any idea how to access the in game tuner?

Well, I've definitely learned the wisdom in quick autosave intervals. I've had numerous freezes since my last report. The most recent was during the AI turns - the map panned to a new location, then froze. I still heard my advisor speaking after the freeze about how cities can defend themselves via bombardment or some such thing...

Hmm, more interesting stuff. It appears that the display is actually what's freezing. I CAN click on items and hear the associated sounds with the actions, such as 'Unit Needs Orders', however, the screen remains frozen...

I have the most recent NVIDIA drivers. Dxdiag shows DX11, I'll have to check for any updates for it...

Okay, my DirectX is completely up to date.

This crash only happens with the DX10/11 .exe file. Does not happen when running the DX9 .exe file.

I've got the same issue, also with an 640 MB 8800 GTS (and an X-Fi, though I'm guessing that's not relevant). The game stops rendering new frames, but the audio still acts as though the game is running when you click on things or zoom around.
