As Provolution suggested in the Amazon Intelligence file, we should approach Amazon as if adding on to their story. So, does anyone have any suggestions on what to say on contact?

I'll be thinking about it, but yeah, I generally agree. Approaching them, and approaching MERLOT, may be interesting or may be headaches, but probably won't be 100% straightforward.
I think part of it we can let slide to when we actually meet them - the circumstances by which we find them and all.
I still laugh heartily when I remember Kaz's opening greetings to/with workboat explorers last game, especially to SANCTA

Yeah, we would like something Cheesy, judging on there side. We also need some slight sexual innuendo with a humorous touch on the other teams. I think they are somewhere between Benny Hill, Priscilla the Desert Queen and maybe a tad of the South Park Team, judging on their age and world perspectives. That is, dont underestimate their Civ 4 skills.

Yeah the Borat stuff with the clams was pretty funny
... I was disappointed that SANCTA didn't seem that interested in any witty reparte though.

What happened in the initial contact between Kaz and Sancta? I was a Mad Scientist for a while, but I don't recall hearing about this.
