It is only a few days while I am in CivFanatics, but I want to get into the Hall of Fame Table. I believe that my playing skills can help me to do that. My target is high score on Deity level, but because of my milking games experience (which is to low I think) I will begin with training Chieftain level game. So project accepted. Target – more than 10.000 points on Chieftain level with standard ruled and without any reloads. I set such game settings:

  • World size – Huge; (Huge map means the biggest possible territory of your civilization)
  • Barbarians – Sedentary; (For early settlers and free Ancient Times technologies)
  • Land mass – Pangaea; Water coverage – 60%; (Reason as in world size)
  • Climate – Wet; Temperature – Warm; Age – 5 Billion. (Clear plain region in south and north witch is ideal for milking games)
  • Civilization – America; (Industrious for quick workers and Expansionist for scout and friendlier barbarians)
  • Rivals – 8 with random selection (I need big free region for early settler expansion)
  • Rules – Default rules
  • Difficulty – Chieftain

After about 100 attempts I got starting position like that (there is some marks on image, they illustrate my first turns):

And began playing. My plan is to get 2 settler factories and 1 worker factory as fast as possible. All other cities will produce Great wonders, attacking units for far expansion, some improvements and sometimes Settlers. Also I will try to experiment with palace rank exploit, free palace jump and other things that could get me useful experience before my Deity attempt.

Ok. First stage of game completed. Here is timeline of that period:

4000BC. Settler moves East will found Settler Factory #1; Worker moves North-East will Irrigate + Road; Scout starts Exploring.

3950BC. (Settler from hut. What a luck!) Settler goes (-4;2) will found Settler factory #2; (I am using coordinate system, where positive X is in NE direction and positive Y in NW) Research to Republic at 20%; Settler factory #1 will produce Granary.

3750BC. Research at 100%; Settler factory #2 will produce Scout then Worker; Worker goes (0;-2) will Mine + Road.

3500BC. Scout2 starts Exploring.

3400BC. Worker moves South-West will Mine + Road.

3350BC. (Warrior Code from hut!)

3300BC. Worker2 moves South-East will Irrigate + Road; (Ceremonial Burial from hut!) Settler factory #2 will produce Granary.

3250BC. (+25g from hut!)

3150BC. Settler factory #1 will produce Settler.

3050BC. Worker2 goes South-West will Mine + Road; (Bronze Working from hut!)

3000BC. Now and after I will change Luxury rate when SF#2 grows and for micromanagement.

2900BC. Settler goes (4; 3) will found Arahmahnia; Started Writing.

2800BC. Worker moves South-East will Road + Mine.

2750BC. Arahmahnia will produce Scout; Worker2 goes East will Mine + Road; (+25g from hut)

2710BC. Settler moves South 2 times than South-West 2 times will found Circlewater; Scouts – manual for some tasks.

2670BC. Scout2 starts Exploring; Scout1 goes (-11;-1) (Contact with France!)

2590BC Circlewater will produce Scout then Worker.

2550BC Settler goes (-5;0) will found Xproject. (The Wheel from hut!) Scout3 goes (-5;-5) Arahmahnia will produce Worker; Worker goes North will Road.

At this time America reached 1000bc, and has such parameters:

- 29 cities, 72 citizens;
- 5 settlers, 14 native workers, 3 scouts, 1 horseman, 1 galley;
- Republic works. All AT technologies except Monarchy;
- 133 score, 142 culture.

I have done a few mistakes yet but still hope to get 10.000 mark.

American HotLines now.
  • America reached 10ad!
  • Democracy works!
  • We have Pyramids!
  • About 100.000 territory!
And some info about Palace rank exploit:
Before: GNP=974, Corruption=243, Productivity=1305.
After: GNP=988, Corruption= 137, Productivity=1470.

How did you move your Palace to the other remote location? I would like to hear more about it. In my two previous Chieftain games, when I abandoned my palace, it jumped to a wrong location (to a city where I built the Pyramid and the Hanging Garden). I ended up abandon both of those games.:(

Answer is simply. I did not abandoned palace. I have used a leader for that.

In this game I have already done several mistakes. Here they are:
  1. I played too fast. Every turn of “highscore” game needs more attention. You must view all available contacts, hurry production in cities where it is needed, more correctly choose city locations and worker tasks that I have done.
  2. I didn’t have detailed plan. I have not started conquest of enemies when it was needed. So my settlers waited a few turns while my horsemen came and conquer Germans. I built city improvements without any system.
  3. This is not a mistake but… There are 2 big continents in my game. It is better to have one for faster expansion.
