Are cities with plague easier to conquer?

In my latest game, I was fighting a long war against the Greeks. They had musketmen, and I didn't. However, I had built both Knights Templar and the Statue of Zeus. I moved 6 ancient cavalry 2 squares from Madrid, a city the Greeks had conquered. I then noticed that a plague sprang up in Madrid. When I went to attack, the Greeks defended with 4 musketmen. Much to my surprise, the first musketman fell quickly. I defeated the other 3, and took Madrid. Now, ancient cavalry attack with a strength of 3, but musketmen defend with a strength of 4. My question is, did the plague weaken the Greek musketmen, making it easier for me to take the city? Has anyone else had a similar situation?

P.S. I am allied with the Aztecs and Romans against the Greeks.

Don't think so.I assume the defending musketmen had full health (if not, then it might be...but IIRC, plague kills units always completly)? I don't believe that plague effects the combat calculations...I would rather call it good luck that their musketmen don't hold against you AC.
