[R&F] Are Emergencies Broken?

I am in agreement with the general sentiment that the Emergencies are a good idea, currently flawed in implementation.

#1 - The AI calculus needs to be changed to accept more emergencies. Most importantly, the ones they have a stake in. For example, I am playing as Robert The Bruce and Lautaro takes Gilgamesh's capital, triggering the emergency. Both are neighbors to me. I join, but Gilgamesh does not. Why?

#2 - Probably too much to ask for, but it would be cool for "negotiations" to occur between possible combatants. If it is important to me to have others join (or not join), perhaps the pot could be sweetened by me.
 
The AI cannot take cities normally, let alone when any strong civ has just taken it.
It was touted to speed up the end game but getting 1k gold or more in ancient times normally for doing what I would do anyway makes the game much easier
It sounded interesting, a way to slow warmongers, I was even enthusiastic when I heard of it.
It may have some immersive qualities but beyond that it is utter fail as far as I am concerned.
R&F has some great qualities, just someone please bin this and fix England.

so if dev need to obliterate something with nerf-bat emergencies is nowhere close to the top of teh list

As copper/crab is only 2* with Magnus it’s not that great early but good late. Not huge amounts of said resources can be got without sacrificing a settler or good luck.

I agree Magnus should be on the list but emergencies are just so badly done. Last night I took Phillips capital, emergency came up, only Philip joined with his one surviving city which I took 2 turns later, 1200 gold TYVM. No need to move a governor and wait 5 turns while getting the right card slotted and deciding which copse to sacrifice.

I have never played an enjoyable emergency.

I am all for chopping copper... 500-700 instant gold on what turn? Certainly not the ancient era

Both are broken, not sure why you seem to be having a go

epic speed around turn 80 (but to be fair emergency gold reward is also higher)

my point is that emergency gold is nowhere near broken nonsense like 1-turn wonders / space projects
and this overflow deal is cool when you have like 3-5 cities
with 10 not so
with more… whole game becomes obscured behind scrolling around tracking all those 1-turn completion walls/boats
each turn ffs

but the advantages are to big to ignore them
in case of wonders it's pointless to hardbuild anything if you able to insta-chop
 
I think that War Weariness, at least for the AI, needs to be turned off during emergencies. I had one to defend an Indian city my Cree conquered and only Tomyris joined despite India being at war with me at the time. Idiot AI that she is she embarks a whole bunch of helicopters (mostly armies and corps) into the ocean on the far side of the map from the target in an attempt to attack my continent. I sit there with a sub and 2 battleships (later joined by a bomber) and proceed to sink every single transport while she just sat there with them (hopefully waiting for a navy to escort? if so they never showed up). Then I guess she war warinessed out because she offered me peace 5 or so turns into the emergency. So I'm guaranteed 15 of the 30 turns without having to worry.

This was all on King.
 
So as to get a feel for the latest DLC I've been playing on King, but has anyone experienced additional or excessive War Weariness as a result of an Emergency(s). I figured this would be a possible Troll move on the part of the AI to get your cities to suffer from war weariness.
 
I have not seen one since the last patch of R&F in 4 games. I thought it was just me not seeing any.

Also, I do not see that negative modifier "You are winning" on the AIs anymore when I am getting closer to victory.
