Are F-15s all that bad?

The thing I don't like about the Seal UU is that Seals teams are small units. Regardless of how good they are, you're not going to send a seal team against a modern armor division in open combat.

Minutemen is pretty much the same as a musketman only the mineutmen didn't stand in long lines like the British did. You know how all of the old countries used to have 'line warfare' so if you did have minutemen as the American UU I think it should have an extra movement point.

But I like the Seals idea as a replacement for the Marines.

Of course not! :D

Do you do that with normal marines? ;)

Edit: If not Seals, then what?

A logical unit which i believe the us was the first to build and demonstrate ( admittedly there were other similar notions about) would be the ironclad which is clearly based on a monitor type with revolving turret as distinct from the floating batteries used in say Crimea.

Actually I think Britain and France built ironclads before America.

They were not monitor types; Britain built an all iron hull; the french used an iron cladding on wood. Both were frigates i think. Technically you are correct i think - the dates were very close - dont have a refernce with me. It was jsut an idea in any case.

-I- wouldn't, no :) But those fruitcake AIs might - remembering this crazy situation when the babylonians sent 417  longbowmen against a city I had with 8 mech infantry defenders...no matter how much better a mech infantry is, it loses with those odds! and yeah, I reloaded counted that stack!. Needless to say, I sued for peace since the bastard still had a stack of 200+ after taking one city :P

Whoa god 417 guys!!! Ouch!!!

Ya the AI gets such outrageous production bonuses because of it's lack of understanding of the big picture.

I think that America should have either Marines or a Special Op unit in the place of Marines. No other country in the world has anything close to these groups

- Maybe you've forgotten that the original marines/commandos/special forces were British and that American SF's were based on the British regiments. Also the SAS/SBS are 'the' #1 elite regiment in the world, and Royal marines are rated more highly than the USMC. The US should have the Minuteman or the stealth bomber

I'll take the U.S. Special Forces over any other English, Russian, Japanese, and any other countries' elite group in the world.

They still produce warriors in the industrial age.

- Then you obviously know nothing about the military world. It known and accepted fact that the British have the most professional and best trained troops in the world and if you asked anyone in another nations forces 99% of them would agree.

Guys guys! They're ALL outstanding! Now, as an American, national pride prevents me from saying anyone is actually better than our boys (and gals) in uniform :soldier:. However, I also would be reluctant to say that we're BETTER than our British counterparts. I for one have nothing but respect and admiration for our 'cousins across the pond'. Now, having said that, I should point out that we've all gone WAY off topic ;).

I concur with JohnnyReb, USMC would be good. They are respected throughout the world. If that is something that would not fly due to the marine unit already in the game, try the Navy SEAL. Now there is a unit to kick some tail. :goodjob:

God Bless America!!

Should have read entire post/thread, oh well :D

So true.

Well the Babs uu is the Bowman, that upgrades to the Longbowman. They probaly figured getting rid of 417 units was no big deal:lol: They must have been broke!

The Englishman is right, They are better. But not much. When you watch the bbc all the U.N. soldiers are mostly English(but then again it is the bbc:goodjob:.) The uu should be the Tactical Nuke... 'course;) thats just as bad:lol:

No,I know it can be an ICBM that always destroy all units in the city and all squares in the city radius gets pollution:D

I think that the Americans should have a nuke that is dropped from a bomber. No body has commented on my idea about the British having a Harrier Jump Jet (we invented it). Also I think that all civs should be able o have a UU for every age (with any able to trigger a golden age).

Also as I feel that the game gets a bit boring after the modern age how about a future age (shounds like a good idea for a mod).

Actually I do know a lot about the military world, I just want to know how many battles your 'best trained troops' have won in the last 20 years.
