Well, I know that some retailers dropped their prices even to $ 43for Civ4, but those are online shops, which are no option for me. When usual shops are going to drop the price. (Circuit city, Best Buy, Walmart, etc) And are the prices that are displayed online are correct if you actually buy in shop. Also generally if I buy the game after several patches are out do I have to patch my game up, or CDs already are patched up?

You'll need to patch the game, unless you buy a "gold" edition in the distant future or install an expansion pack.

The game won't likely drop in price until at least after Christmas.

Yeah my bets are for after Christmass too.

The price in the US is 43 dollar? Then us Europeans are getting screwed. I payed 49 Euros for my game.

The price will nOt drop until the new year arrives - but - check your local stores for used copies. YEs, used copies. Two of the local stores here have some returns and are only charging $35 for them. So check it out if you need to take the cheap route, commie :D

If you have a checking account josephstalin you can get a paypal account and pay for online things through it. Online buying of games and hardware is the way to go man, you'll save loads of cash over time.

They only drop prices at the baggining of a companies quarter(well, the smart companies anyway) and most organized companies try to key there quarters up the four seasons(that is spring, summer, fall and winter) so the price drop(assuming take2 is seasonally quarterly) will most likely happen in the middle of next april. Its to much of a hsalte to change prices around in the middle of quarters.

About a week after any big name game comes out Best Buy, Circuit city, etc. will typically sell it for about $10 dollars less than the normal rate for one week. If this title sells as well as Civ3 (the early indications are it's selling better) the price will go back up and stay there till about the time the obligatory first expansion comes out when it will drop to about $30.

Cost me 49.99 Canadian dollars dont know the conversion rate to Euro's but It's alot cheaper then what you guys are paying for it. :D

49.99 here as well, but that was a launch-day sale (well, actually it was four days after launch, but they honored their advertisement and used the sale price on the day the game came in.) Now I believe its 59.99. Not sure.

Well, at my local Best Buy it costs 45 dollars, so I guess I'm not waiting for Chistmas. Warpstorm was right. Thanks for replies.

Then us Europeans are getting screwed. I payed 49 Euros for my game.

I paid 42 Euro for my copy, but in general prices for hard- and software are cheaper in the US. Don't think I ever bought a game in Europe that was cheaper than in the State.

I just saw Sunday Ads.
Now Im mad because its $45 at most big electronic stores.
