Japan has just sunk a North Korean "spy ship",

Pakistani rebels killed 14 members of the Indian Parliment,

Isreali and Palestinian clashes daily,

Argentina is collapsing in four days of rioting,

Terrorism in the United States is the greatest threat since the Cuban Missile Crisis,

Fundamentalist Iran is developing nuclear weapons, with help of the Russian Federation by building a nuclear reactor,

...and everyone is on their toes...

Oh my god! I didn't hear about the ship, or Iran! Damn, this seems very very bad. I have been thinking this since the US backing out of the ABM treaty, and the Indian Parliament storming. Holy Jesus! It isnt htat bad when you see it one at a time, but seeing them all on one thread is scary!

The ABM Treaty wouldn't have anything to do with it...it's for missile defense, not missile offense. With countries like Iran developing weapons like that, the only sensible thing to do would be to build a strategic defense, but that's just my opinion.

Also, let's not forget Iraq's chemical capabilities...

Iraq! That damn ****ing !#@* country! They are evil! GRR! Then there is the little nation of North Korea, who is also building nuclear weapons in suitcase bombs, missles, you name it. What is going to happen in Argentina?

North Korea has short-range nuclear weapons. They tested one two years ago, when they fired a missile over Japan...they also have the FIFTH largest conventional army in the world, right behind the U.S., Russia, China, and India...

1 )Japan has just sunk a North Korean "spy ship",
Uh, yeah, a sure sign of WW3.

2) Pakistani rebels killed 14 members of the Indian Parliment,
Pakistan and Indian have had troubles since the day they were formed.

3) Isreali and Palestinian clashes daily
As in the last 40 years...

4) Argentina is collapsing in four days of rioting,
Also, nothing new here...

5) Terrorism in the United States is the greatest threat since the Cuban Missile Crisis,
Of course! A threat to the whole worlds democracy!
I heard one 7'7 sized maniac was on the plane and tried to steer
it to Empire State Building!
He was a bad al qaeda muslim m*******!
You should change your constitution now!

6) Fundamentalist Iran is developing nuclear weapons, with help of the Russian Federation by building a nuclear reactor,
Link, please?

7) and everyone is on their toes...
Not me.

No WW3 on the way, dont worry, the worst thing that can happen is the middle east flamed, if US attack Iraq, Iraq attacks Israel, Israel retalites.
Thats the worst case realistic scenario, in my opinion.

Nobody asked for your sarcasm. If you're going to post, please have a sincere and valid argument or comment.

6) Fundamentalist Iran is developing nuclear weapons, with help of the Russian Federation by building a nuclear reactor,

You need a link for that? I'll remind you of the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-1988.

7) and everyone is on their toes...
Not me.

That's because Finland only acts in it's own interests -- never to protect democracy or freedom, but show sympathy for the "disenfranchised" third world.

'That's because Finland only acts in it's own interests -- never to protect democracy or freedom, but show sympathy for the "disenfranchised" third world.'

I would not expect more from finland, its not a strong country and certainly not vital on internetional relations and negotiations, etc..

On the other hand, USA didnt do **** about WW2 untill it hit them straight in the face, same with the 'war against terror', terror always existed, it did not first occur on the 11th of september.

I guess blazing afghanistan and korea also acts for the interests of the entire world... so is quitting the ABM treaty.

Dont get me wrong, I love the US, but its foreign policy not have always been the best, I usually dont criticsize it but dont criticsize finland, a 'weak' country (considered to the US).
And since when sympathi to the third world is wrong?

'Never to protect democracy or freedom' - I dont recall the USA doing anything to protect democracy that was not related to them directly, correct me if I am wrong please.

Guys the we ARE at war and the whole world IS sort of involved,

It's just this world war a bit different from the previous ones.

Events these days move at a crazy pace, but I don't think the major nations are gonna spaz out and start launching ICBMs,

The cold war is over, fellows.

But we do live in interesting times....:crazyeyes

This might be the beginning of a world war, but there might not be any sides, or multiple. These things might have to do with another. But I am not that worried about a huge war, it probably wont happen, here in Germany.

First of all, Iran's Russian reactors are light water reactors, extremely difficult to get weapons grade material from.

#2 you left out the nukes that Israel has.

There is no WW3 on the horizon. Japan sinking a Korean ship and the Argentina thing are just coincidences in my opinion. The US pulling out of the ABM treaty was pretty ******** on our (cough Bush's) part. As we already know, what threat are ICBM's when someone can crash a @#$%ing plane into your buildings. All Bush accomplished by doing so was piss off the rest of the treaty members, especially Russia, and made the US look more like the "Modern Rome" that many perceive it as.

One thing to note: the air-gas bombs they're using against the empty caves in Afghanistan now create an explosion nearly as powerful as a nuke, but without the radiation. I'd be more afraid of conventional weaponry than nuclear, chemical, or biological because most nations would not hesitate to use an air-gas bomb in war, while the other types would be considered atrocities.

You guys in america are killing me.

I would answer this, but my answer to 'flaming' ( ) post would also be 'flaming'( ),
so I don't do it.

I'd have to go with No.

I doubt that WW3 will happen anytime soon. Not quite enough world hatred yet.

Japan vs. North Korea.....I don't think that will develop into anything....

Pakistan and India are always at each other....nothing new there. Same with Isreal and Palestine. Nothing new.

Argentina will be turning itself around shortly. It could degrade into civil war....but not a war with neighboors....and certainally not enough fuel for a global war.

Terriosm on America has always been there....just now they finally hit a big target. No enough for a global war.

Same with Iran's nukes......it's not really new news. As well as someone pointed out about the reactor and not enough material for weapons...or whatever they said.

For all those reasons....I doubt a global war is on the horision.

Also....I agree with what IceBlaZe said.

Bad knowledge carparker, they have 0.5 Km radius, nuclear warheads have almost 30km...

(I'll do it for ya, Juize ;)) what a load of BS! - EVERY country acts in its own national interests, without exception; they only help someone else when they have something to gain from it - period. rmsharpe, get a clue, your limited view of the world is frightening.

USA is not at this time using fuel-air bombs on cave complexes. It is using Thermo-baric precision bombs. These are guided into a cave entrance or vent (by thermal exhaust signature) and use a large slow burning shape charge to force a large jet of plasma into the cave, presuure cooking whatever is inside and doing structural damage to the cave. Sort of a giant version of a HEAT shell.
