I always go straight to the game then read the manual after I get stuck! It’s a bad habit I know but it’s the way I start every new game I buy.

I don't think I need manual help, but Civilopedia help I will need :)
For the rest, no, no tutorial for me. A first game on Chieftain will do.

Straight into the game. Will probably have a quick read through of the manual though.

First the manual, then tutorial and then the game. Then map and scenario designs.

I will study and memorize the manual.

...KIDDING. I'll try the tutorial, then off to an epic game.

Read the manual, tweak the rules, design a map, play the game.

I fail to see the point of both a manual and a tutorial. One or the other should be enough for anyone to learn what they need to do to play the game. Having both is overkill.

I'll stick to the manual though.

i wouldnt even read the manual. i never read it. however, the civilopedia explains alot.

First I will open a bottle of champagne, then I'll play the game.

Read the manual from cover to cover, then play. No tutorial.

Manual is good for something to read in bed or on the toilet, no? That's what i always do with mine!

Yes, without a Civilopedia I'd play a tutorial, but I think Civ II and Civ III players know enough to start right away and discover some things by themselves :)

The manual I'll read sometimes when I can't sleep and I wanna read something in bed :)

Tutorials are the only way to begin a game

Peruse the manual, if for no other reason than to wet my appetite, then delve into a game. :)

Read the manual on the way home from the gaming store or while it installs if it's a gift. Play my first game. Then begin exploring the editor. Then the text files, then probably into another game, then mod something, then play the mod. Or something. ;)

I'll read the manual on the train and bus on my way home from buying it, then I'll play the tutorial, then I'll play the game. I find it helps, did when I played Star Trek Armada 2.
