Are you still playing?

nope, because of my college assignment + I've got BF1 (and Cuphead)

I hope I could play it soon, though

I play almost every day - such a variety of civs and strategies to try. I have experimented with about 30 mods, and have a good 8-12 that are very often used. The combinations make each game different. I am currently *really* enjoying Olleus' 8 Ages of Pace and 8 Ages of War mods. The changed promotions are worthwhile, and the ability to coastal raid goodie huts with a melee ship is heaven for this all-ocean, all-the-time player. Plus there is a Polynesian leader named Moana (Disney?) who has a really fun flavor.

Keep in mind I have only finished one game all year. It's all about exploration and experimentation for me. My favorite games are enormous maps with 60-ish AI/CS, but what tends to knock me out of most games is managing so many lux trades. I just get really tired of it. I would love a mod that just automatically tells you who will give you the best deal each turn, with variables like max gold or max gpt, get a lux back, etc. Mind-numbing tedium otherwise.

No, stopped playing shortly after the last patch. Its just not that interesting, engaging or immersive for mine.

I'll likely have a look at the next DLC since its at no extra cost, but I wouldn't pay for another one.

That's similar to how I feel. I've got every other DLC immediately, but I'm not going to shell out any money for the next until I can see what they've done about the bugs introduced with the last patch.

I got pissed that the Nubia update was so late for Mac, so I purchased EU4+ shitloads of DLCs in a weak (and financially costly) moment. Since then I haven't paid much attention to Civ VI. EU4 is obviously a completely different came, so I don't want to compare them too much, but it really reminds me how much I miss decent diplomacy in Civ VI.

Still playing, albeit with loads of mods, and I have limited spare time so the flaws of the game haven't really hit home yet.

Right now I'm dividing my time between Civ, Battle Academy, Prison Architect and a couple you haven't heard of.

Still play it, but sort of jump between Civ 5, 6, and another strategy sim. Still lots of fun, but plenty of room for improvement. I hope it evolves, like Civ 5 did...it has some great ideas that need much additional development.

That reminds me that I completed a game as the Ottoman Empire today. It was actually my first completed game of EU4. I owned half of Balkan peninsula, the whole peninsula where Turkey lies, half or Arabia, great part of north Africa, and a great part of eastern Africa. I also colonised Madagascar.

However, with so many countries, aspects and opportunities I can try, I'm sure EU4 will keep me amused until the SE Asia DLC or expansion pack will come.

I think I played 6 hours when it first came out and just couldn't get into it. In reading this and a few other threads it sounds like the last patch ruined some game play, is that true? I was going to see what DLC was out there and have another go.

Haven't played in months no, don't even have it installed. I'll probably play a few more games next patch/dlc and shelve it again. I found civ 6 to be the least replayable civ iteration so far.

Played a couple of games after the summer patch, but it makes me feel that UI and AI are still horrible even 1 year after release. If you add that last patch broke trading and diplomacy, it goes without saying that I need to wait for 2-3 more patches and mods before the game may become a bit fun to play.

The last patch improved quite a few things; but in turn wrecked much of the diplomatic game in both relationships and trade with the AI.
Hold on to see what the next one does would be my suggestion.

Thanks! I was checking out Steam and saw there was DLC available, but no expansions yet. Would the next patch come out at expansion time?

Next patch comes with next DLC. End of October seems likely.

Thank you! I haven't really been following the game much. I know the typical Civ formula is 2 expansions after DLC and that expansions usually make the game a lot better to play.

I won as every Civ so far (including Nubia). I'm still playing a game as Arabia (just felt like playing them a second time). I'm going to try to get myself to conquer other Civs. I'm too pacifistic.

After binging on Civ and then losing all my childhood friends in X-Com WoTC, I needed some friendly human contact and got sucked back into Eve.

I feel like I'm such a terrible Civfanatic because I only have about 100 hours in this one... Every time I try to start up a game though I get so bored by the Rennaissance I can't bring myself to finish the game. Either I've won by then or lost. I've had a couple rare games that were competitive til the end but for the most part it becomes a press next turn simulator and the added choices they added to the game, while fresh at first, feel tedious now. Despite the efforts to reduce "best build paths" I feel more restricted in that regard than ever. Especially when the actual buildings and districts take so long to build. There's little room for creativity right now imo
