Hey guys

Ive been reading the cached wiki about the armageddon counter. So far I have a lovely Ashen Vale empire and the armageddon counter is set at 65. I am shortly gonna be building my army of nasty beasties, but they increase the counter more.

I was wondering if it is worth sanctifying ruins to reduce the AC (as I am scared someone will start working on the "Kill all demons" project).

Should I do this? Also, what is "hellfire" terrain like? (my terrain is already completely hellish).

One last thing... what happens when you hit "wrath" or "apocalypse"?

Thanks guys

Al

Sanctifying ruins reduces the AC by one on standard maps and on larger maps it has even less impact on the AC.

Hellfire tiles spawn demons like infernal lords, balors, sect of flies, etc. (just as ruins and barrows), which belong to the infernal if they are in the game.Otherwise they are barbarian. Those spots can be destroyed by everyone.

Thw avatar of wrath event converts 60% of all units to barbarians, the barbarian avatar of wrath appears and they get a randomly chosen city, where all the units are placed.

Apocalypse halves the population in all cities and kills a certain percantage (50%?) of all living units, i.e. not angels, demons, golems, etc.

The units have to be living. The Luchuirp can laugh, while evil civs should start upgrading their finiest to undead and/or demonic units like Eidolons or Stygian guards when the AC starts getting really high.
EDIT: And, although I could be wrong, I heard units are no longer directly converted, but given the "engraged" promotion (chance to become barbs each turn.) I'll double check on that.
EDIT 2: From the .30 changelog:
26. Wrath Unleashed event applies the enraged promotion to units instead on instantly converting them to barbarians (use them or lose them).

Don't worry about a civ building glory everlasting. It is expensive and is from an expensive tech. I have never seen an AI build it. Burn the world with no worries!

Sorry, that is not correct - the wiki and civilopedia are still wrong after this has been noted before. If you happen to be playing the Mercurians when the Avatar appears, you WILL lose Angels which are not living. A change needs to be made that shows ALL units are affected (except heroes) when the counter hits 90. When it hits 100, the Angels are not included in the culling, and, in fact, the Mercurians will often get a huge number of Angels when units are taken away from the other civs, including heroes.

You are correct on your first Edits. But, really, my experience with units with the enraged promotions, especially werewolves, is that if you don't give them Loyalty quickly, they will turn.
