I'm mixed on this, I mean, could Japan have been defeated otherwise? Was it a poor choice in targets? Was two too much?
 
I dont know if he is meaning that seriously. But it is funny nonetheless. I mean even Hitler was funny. Speer was right, when he said Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" was the best documentary film about Hitler he saw.
Anyway, your three answers I would answer all with yes. Indeed IMO the unconditional surrender thing might have prolonged the war than shortening it. But for my arguments just read my posts here. On short: Yes, Japan was already surrendering. Yes, a military or uninhabited target could have been taken. Yes, there was no sufficient time between the droppings.
