Artillery!!!

personally i think that as an offensive unit you should be able to add it to another offensive unit and let it act like a shadow (following that unit step for step, where it goes, the artillery follows). it sucks having to go slow to make all of your force gets there at the same time.

PTW and the stacked unit movement is nice but if you have a 3 movement offensive unit and a 1 movement units like artillery then its going to be a VERY sllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww war!

the movement is what makes me treat it as more of a defensive unit than an offensive unit.

count me among the artillery lovers. one of my favorite civiii moments came when i had some outskirts invaded by a monster SOD--like 40 pieces, tanks, infantry, etc. the area they came into was really mountainous, so they were forced to slow down. that gave me just enough time to pump massive amounts of artillery into every nearby town. as pieces came off the mountains, kabam. crippled them this way, then used the artillery to bombard an enemy town, weakening it enough that i could take it and cut off their escape. having spent most of their military on this ill-advised invastion, that civ lasted about 4 more turns. that's what they get for messing with foodguy.
