...Ashamed...Need Avatar Help...

I just hit 300 posts today, so I want to get my custom avatar! I find the site that has one I want, paste it into Paint, and then...trouble. Obviously the picture of the site is huge, so I tried cutting away all the other crap. "The Image is too large".

I have no clue what to do. How do I take a large image and make it small enough to be an avatar?

I'm very ashamed to post this...I've always thougth I'm good with computers...

Paint? I don't know anyone actually uses that program.

Just make sure its only 65x65

How do I make sure its 65x65 pixels? And, if it is larger than that, and I cut away the edges (so only white and a small picture remains), do those white edges count as pixels?

Hey, try contacting starlifter here at CFC... He is a wizard with this stuff. Haven't seen him lately, but he would probably set you up good if you sent him the pic and told him what you were lookiong for. He made my avatar for me and many others here.

To resize in paint you have to use the handles in the corners or sides.

You have to save as GIF, witch paint can't do.

It can, on my Paint. Anyway, can save it as a jpg file.

AHA! I know what to do know, but onfortunately the handles on the left side isn't working! Erg! Why must nothing go my way!!!!

This is so annoying. I can finally cut out the bottom and right sides of the picture, but not the top and left. The handles there have disapeared!

Use rectange select and move it to the top corner.

Thanks for all the help I (finally) got it up! When I used PaintShop, I kept on having to cut of individual rows of pixels to get it to the right byte size!

[Of course, now that I know how, I will change my avatar every week!]
