Funny story to share:

I decided to try out Kurio with StW, just to see how giant the cities got. (Obvious answer: very giant.) So I rushed AV, and since this was the first religion to get discovered, it ended up spreading quickly and being adopted by the other six races on my continent.

I then went over 700 turns without a single war between anyone. (I finally declared after I built Eur and freed Brigit. I was hitting Future Techs while everyone else was excited about this new "iron" thing they just learned to make.)

This was, by far, the most peaceful game I have ever seen in my life. Everyone was happy with everyone. The only wars that ever happened were ones that I started, and ones between the two civs off on another continent that didn't pick up AV (they happened to grab some random religions off of trade routes and adopted them instead).

So, yes. Ashen Veil is clearly actually the most peaceful of all religions. It's the *other* religions that start all the problems. If they'd just leave the AVers alone, we'd all get along splendidly!

Unfortunately, getting a religious victory with the ashen veil usually involves armageddon. It's a small price to pay, sure, but it does make you wonder whether conquering the cities would have been easier.

Pah. I razed the entire Elohim civilization solely to make the AC flinch. When we prove that we are more powerful than the hell that we emerged from, we become true masters of Erebus. (The apocalypse killed Eur (for the second time, so his immortality was already gone), but left Brigit alone, so I was okay.)
