Assistance Playing Turns Whilst Away

We all agree that the most annoying thing about playing PBEM games are delays caused by players unable to play for long periods of time for various reasons (e.g. holidays, sudden work commitments etc.).

A way around this would be for players to ask for assistance from other experienced players here on the forums to play their turns whilst they are away.

I would be willing to help out players in this way, and I'm sure many others on these boards would be willing too.

Anybody else feel the same way? If so, perhaps we could start a sticky 'Help Needed Whilst I am Unavailable' thread on the boards.

Has potential, but it may not be fair to other players if a game is full of Regent players and you replaced yourself with a Diety Player. But I suppose that would be up to the players in the game to agree to it.

I would volunteer to play somebody elses turns.

Most of the problems occur in games in their early stages - once a game gets going, it tends to keep going, even when there are delays. So most of the time, the input required is simply pressing Enter, or one or two other key presses (that can be pre-arranged before a player goes absent).
