Attack Of The Killer Flys

this week my dad was stung twice by the same "fly". weve found a dead fly of the same type and it is very wierd. it has the body and shape of a fly, but seems to have strips. this fly leaves welts and the area that is stung becomes inflamed and swells up after the stinging. we dont know what it is. it is very aggressive and we will just be in the pool minding our own buisness and this thing will come up and just attack you! its crazy and very fast. does anyone have any idea what this might be???

it couldnt be. its too small to be a wasp and its head looks just like the head of a fly. so do its wings. it looks just like a fly except it has black and white stripes along its abdomen.

Hmm, reminds me of a horsefly. I had a problem with a horsefly earlier, as it bit my leg, and it hurt a lot like you said. But then I went inside, and as usual, no one beileved me. They just thought I poked myself or something.

yeah, horse flis are a b$@*h. My grandfather and i were fishing once and got stung repediatly by them.

Hmm. It looks different from the one that bit me. Mine was more fat and black and white stripy.

Yes, they are mean and persistant - attracted to sweat and the
water.


Bluemo's was probably a 'horsefly', which is larger and darker.

Deer flies are WORSE than horse flies. And MAN do they smart!!
