We agree. For the fall balance patch, we've added quite a bit of worker AI to accommodate the custom abilities of a number of civs.

hey that's pretty cool. Should help the AI, which is good.

I find automated workers do fine as long as they're set to not destroy your old improvements. If I have something I want to focus on myself (like roads) I'll un-automate one and do it myself. But for the most part automated workers seem to give priority to cultivating luxuries and resources and will do farms, quarries and what not after.... which is all fine by me.
