Avatar Blues

Antonius --

Mine is just the Tivo symbol, (badly) edited to read "Mojo." Someone else thought of it first -- Gannon pointed out that he posts in Demo games -- but his is personalized w/ a nifty flag et al... Mine is closer to the source material, as (my limited skill) would only allow for amateurish, ******** edits to my Avatar...

I'm glad to took the punishment and can still post, but I hope the Mods allow you to pick a personal Avatar again some time soon.

None of this kerfuffle would happen if you stuck to a nice simple Max von Sydow or Elijah Wood avatar. :ack:

ahh Lord Darkshade, but then how would we differentiate between we mere paupers and your excellency?

Are you suggesting that one is identifiable by avatar alone?

@Immortal- glad to see it!!

@Mojotronica- ah, the Teevo symbol; then maybe you aren't someone I know from another forum after all...

@Simon- I didn't like the Max Von Sydow I was using; too narrow. Sween made a decent avatar of the Death character from The Seventh Seal but it is pretty eerie looking. I'd like to put a good shot of the real Antonius Block up there but it will require me finding one in my Ingmar Bergman "images" book and scanning, editing etc... something for a less busy time...

I don't mind any avatar, be it custom, cool or crap, as long as it comes with a good post.

AB, have you considerd using none at all, while you are, ahmm, restricted? Visual Silence, a perfect statement to your situation.

Otherwise, I agree totally agree with

I don't see the fuss in the avatar. . .Perhaps I'm not offended by other peoples avatars because of Turner's Rule #3 - Opinions Vary. I may not like what a person says, but I also tend to ignore that which I don't like. Immature, a bit, yes, but it works for me.
Not immature at all to me, rather a wise decision.

Antonius, perchance you may employ some other interesting ones out there. I have some brilliant ones of Von Sydow as Jesus from 'The Greatest Story Ever Told'. For one, I would like to see you use them, if but for a while. They need to be used.

As I responded to the PM, I'd ba happy to have a look. I'm a big Von Sydow fan and with Ming dressed as a muppet over here, there's a big gap in the ranks for that kind of thing.

I am one step closer to retrieving my Bergman still photos book too...

Ming IS a muppet, hes statler. His hearing is a little worse though.

The Muppets are always g-reat.

Came out a bit shadowy when I shrunk it but that's okay... I like it :goodjob:

Surely the mods can't repress my freedom of speech and religion by asking me to remove Jesus/Von Sydow...

A fine avatar...now, if we dare execute the second part of my proposal...:ack:

Not ready to start grousing my title just yet, Simon... one step at time when you begin to drift from parole; first you steal the car, then later you drive it into the ATM...

This seems as good a thread as any to announce my new avatar. Baron Wulfenbach was getting a bit dated. This fine face comes from the game Master Of Orion 2. He's the hero "Necron." Such a handsome dude.
