If you can't attach it because it is too large, than try this:

at the bottom of the page there is a link called "upload file". From there you can upload your file into the civfanatics folder. Once it is uploaded, go to the advanced reply so you can add your image. To add your image paste this: http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/(your file name here).(file extension) and wrap it in the
tags

EDIT: If it is in .bmp format (the format used by MS Paint) than you won't be able to upload it, you would have to change it to a jpeg.

Yeah, its in paint. How do I change it to jpeg?

I hope this works. If the picture shows, it worked.

Now what do I do next? (Thanks for your help so far, you've been really helpful)

It looks perfect. How will I be able to use it?

On the top of the page, on the right side of the toolbar, is an option called "quick links" , click on it and select "avatar". Scroll down and there will be a box that says: "Enter avatar URL". Copy and paste http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/atlas1.jpg into that spot. Hit the save changes button and you'll be all set.

Thank you shadowdude for my new avatar. Thanks for being patient with me, considering I know so little about this stuff.

I'll try again. Can anyone do anything with my avatar so it becomes christmas like?

Here is the fort with the Grinch's evil eyes upon it.

I managed to save it as jpg unfortunately

Was planning to fit the Grinch's eyes better to the pic, but I hadnt the time. I like the idea very much though, and I was aiming for an alternative christmas theme for the fort. Besides, I think the Grinch reflects Perfy's view of Xmas. Or perhaps I should have added Scrooge :mischief:

I saw what Lyonesse managed to accomplish with Mauer's avatar, I wonder if anyone could help me with this one. I always wanted to have monogram in a "3D" effect. Upper part Red and Lower part a dark green of the shield. The monogram in black metal look. If anyone is interessed I've got a bigger version of the monogram, since I wold like it in 240x240.

Here's the 240x240
