So, I played a game with the Aztecs when I first bought Civ vi on immortal and the slave bit worked fine. Domination victory in 13xx ad. OK ... So far so good.
Play a few dozen other games with other civs. Decided to try the Aztecs on deity. Met Germany like on the 3rd turn near a barbie camp. They double hit barbs and I declared on them. Took both warriors as slaves in two turns and the system gave the message about capturing with the eagle warrior and the little blue dialog came up for me to accept, BUT ...
In neither case did the builder unit acctually spawn under my control. NOTHING was there.
I tried re-loading and same thing.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe some tech is required to take slaves. It is like turn 3 after all. Anyone know what is going on?
It's not the PC or anything like that. Windows 10 top of the line new system. Everything else is fine.
