Back from a long break.

okay heres an update

Around turn 560 Basuim came into play, thanks to thessa.

at turn 589 Thessa jipped me out of "Glens of Killybeg" at the end, by swooping in with a stack of doom, 5 Assassins, and ~8 horseman. But it didnt matter to me, because just picking off the units slowly with bambur got him to level 15! So Hes on his way towards the Ring of Carcer. Arthendian and barnaxus, along with some catapults and iron golems took Slane over on turn 595 and thats where I am now.

Also i traded thessa for her world map, for 40 gold. And I found out that the clan of embers, Balseraphs, Sidar, and Svartalfar. are also in the game, the Svarts are dominating the other continent.

Turn 626, Hyborem Appears just south of me after i destroy a treeibly guarded barbarian city that I didnt even know was there after i got Brigit. Im just defending again Einoin, But the Armageddon Counter is at 29, which mean the blight is soon from what I understand. I have two paladins and the other two are in production. Hopefully Brigit, the 4 Paladins, and some iron golems and catapults/fireball adepts will be able to destroy him.

Im going to stop for tonight, Leave me any tips on what i should do. Because, i think Blight will royally screw me over if I let it happen.

Blight + Luchiurp = Victory.

Build up a Golem stack, and attack with them the instant blight hits, golems are at full health, enemy units damaged up to 50%.

And get some Fire Mana and build Blasting Workshops in all of your cities, and you'll see why the Golems are the ultimate army.

I would disagree with the bit about golems being the ultimate army. I always have trouble getting them up and going, and more importantly, getting enough of them. Now, once you have them, they are quite nice, but I always feel like I'm playing catch up by that point...

I'll give you a game this weekend then, we'll see who beats whom. See you in #Erebus at 5pm GMT Saturday Night!

Be there or, well, um, not. Hmmm...

so I shouldnt worry about blight? Okay then :P And I do have a single fire mana, Well atleast, i built one.

Blight will still affect your cities, adding huge amounts of temporary unhealthyness, but that happens to everyone and there isn't much you can do about it except build as many health-giving buildings as you can. But its nothing to worry about, and the Luchuirp are one of the few civs that can take advatage of the blight. It deals Death damage, so any units unaffected by it (Golems, Angels, Demons, Undead, basically any non-living race) will not be injured.

ahh, well, Brigit and the paladins took Hyborem out dropping the Armageddon counter to 15, I now have control of the gela and a level 5 or 6 paladin.

Also Inbetween turn 626 and 650 Einoin flipped religions to fellowship of leave, and built Kitra Kyriel
Bambur smashed her with ease XD. God, bambur is almost level 16 hes unstoppable! :P Alsso, i just noticed my worldspell gives hammers in each of my cities, should i use it when i have alot of cities or would it be fine to use it now (4 cities)

I'd use it now. Move all of the hammers to one of your cities and supercharge the production there. You can use cheap units (scouts or warriors?) to move the hammers and then kill them and make engineers with the hammers.

Turn 680, Elohim Destroyed, he wouldnt even go to peace when all he had left was 3 horse archers, and a single city. Crazy ol' coot. Gonna wait till turn 700 or so, then the elves Die.

Also Jonas Endain is locked on the corner all by his self, heck i have to make a boat to go say hi, so he is fine for now.

bah Faeryl asked me to go to war with the Other elves, and I accidentally accepted on turn 683, by turn 703 i finally got them to agree to peace, but i lost alot of golems my catapults and my paladins :(

Everyone hates accidents and not having a save before they happened.

But in the process basium got killed (the unit), And, Heralds... are... SCARY.

Well I ended up making it to turn 1000 when time ran out. never saw blight, but I didnt win. I was just behind Faeryl in score, I Did however end up exacting my revenge on thessa.. for no good reason.

i started a new game, and i think i got the most overpowered start ever.

Spoiler Look at my start :

Thanks for the CoE-chuirp suggestion Azhral. While my favorite religion conceptually, I thought CoE was useless for anyone who didn't find some Ice mana. I'm happy to learn otherwise.

Hmm... while that spot is very nice as far as getting mana, it really isn't that great a spot for a capital. I would definately claim it, but probably only as a second city. The reason is that you want your capital to have either lots of food, or lots of production (and enough food to get that production), as in the early game you are going to be wanting to expand as fast as possible, which means hammers or food.

You also want to have one or two heavy commerce resources to jump-start your tech engine. Curretnyl, the closest thing you have to a commerce resource is goign to require both bronze working and mining to use effectively.

That's an amazing set of tiles to have inside of your empire - and a horrible setup for your first city.

Looking to consolidate some Luchuirp advice that I've seen in several threads, get some people's thoughts.

I've seen three major approaches, which after achieving an early game basic economy/resource activation techs:
1. Tech as fast as possible to Iron Golems.
2. Tech as fast as possible to Blasting Workshops + Wood Golems.
3. Tech as fast as possible to Octopus Overlords to give your melee units an upgrade path, then continue down the path to Iron Golems / weapon upgrades. Use Asylums in golem generating cities to provide bonus tech without downside of crazy.

The last seems the most well rounded, but also forgoes the opportunity of having absolutely devastating Iron Golems before applicable counters exist.
