Back from MMO land, gauging interest / looking for a game!

Haven't been around here since the start of '08, sadly, but I have the itch to play some civ again now that I'm pretty much done with my run in the Age of Conan MMO.

Anyway, Succession Games were what I enjoyed most about the civfanatics site, and I'm hoping I can find one to join to get back in shape as it were - or if there's enough interest I would start another game in my 'newbie' series that kind of died off.

So, anyone looking for a rusty player who could probably tackle Monarch with a good team to back him up? We played Prince in Try1 and pretty much smashed it good before the game sputtered out without us actually finishing the victory.

I am looking for a SG too... I play all levels up to immortal/ marathon at home but any settings will be fine if you want to launch a game ... (loosing in deity doesn't take a lot of time). Do you have a variant idea?

I'm thinking Monarch and either Normal or Epic speed. As for a variant...still working on that one!

Monarch normal/epic will be OK… Do you have any idea on leader or map?
For my part, I like organized leader but really any will do (I generally play random)…
I will roll some normal speed start at home to get used with the speed…
I am hoping some other player will join as well so we can start the game soon!!!

Hi altonhare! Our Epic/Monarch game (Try-03) is going strong, although we may or may not pull out the victory yet. We'll have to see! I have started a Normal/Prince game with a different variant as Try-04, we're still in the first round of turns on that one and have spots open if you'd like to join there. Both are linked in my signature, just let me know!

Once Try-03 finishes sometime in January I'll be starting another Monarch game.

Never played a succession game, found this thread to add on to instead of starting a new one. I've played mostly over in the HOF. I'm a player struggling to win Monarch regularly with random starts. Also, a warning, although I use Windows (Vista ) to play Civ, I'm mostly a Mac user so may need a bit of help in posting screenshots. I've also played MMO's the past couple of years and am returning to Civ.

So if anyone is starting an appropriate level game and wouldn't mind a Succession noob, I'm ready to give it a try.

I have a suggestion, how about a just win game, but with a specific strategy in mind?
I would personally like to see in an SG: great merchants and lightbulbing the Southern end of the tech tree, or settling them all for a super capital. It may be done before, but it would be great to see it again, if ever.

I wouldn't worry too much about participating in a SG before starting one, you'll always have a few old hands involved to get the game moving. If the other game doesn't eventuate, just start one up

Succession seems complicated. XD. One more turn syndrome, anyone? It's like sharing your favorite toy. But yea, I'm interested in playing.
