We should discuss a procedure for when a backup player steps in to play the turn.

Since the turn-timer is 24 hours, I suggest that if the turnplayer has not posted that he intends to play by the 20th hour, then any of the back-up players should play.

A post should be made in the TurnTrack thread indicating when the back-up player will play the save. If the back-up player has not posted that the turn is complete within 2 hours of the deadline, other backup players should step in.

I'm not sure if this is the best system - I have no experience with a mulitplayer pitboss game. So if there are other ideas, please speak up! :hammer:

Yes we need a mechanism for backup-turnplayers!

Maybe we can forulate some guidelines:
- If the turnplayer hasn't posted when he'll play the turn until 18 hours (or 20 hours) of the turn (6 (or 4) hours left on timer), a backup will post when he will play the turn.
- We need a defined thread for these notices. (Can be an existing, but it has to be clear where to check for our urnplayer.)
- We could try to play before timer is at 1 hour (or 2?) at any time. Mistakes happen to occur mostly when the player is in a hurry...

A fixed procedure for a backup-TP is good, because there is allways the possibility, that the normal TP (in the moment I) is delayed, although I 'm often online.

With a PBEM there is the risk that both the primary turnplayer and the backup could play independently and send the next team two different saves. In a pitboss this is not an issue, so the only remaining problems introduced by having a backup play is if the primary TP gets upset about it, or if the backup doesn't follow procedure.

I agree we should think in something like a back up player, im sorry im not the more adecuated though, in deed i havent joined teh game yet...

(i check forum often)

I was told you can log into the game for seeing the map for yourself, check cityes and such as long as you dont "touch" anything.

I have contributed by reading and answering the forums but havent logged into the game yet, not sure if i explained it well :p.

:salute:

I'm glad that Tinkerbe11 noticed the approaching deadline - to be honest, if he hadn't posted, I wouldn't have thought to check in. I'm much more accustomed to a pbem time-frame

... well I noticed it as well, but I remembered HUSch's post from yesterday and waited to post sth here. After Tinkerbe11 and peter posted I didn't answer, because I was sure one of them would have played as a backup;)

We need a back-up turnplayer: HUSch posted that he will be away from this Thursday (19th) until Saturday (21st), and then again (for longer) Friday 27th for an entire week until Sunday April 5th.

Is there anyone more available than me?
I'm having a hard time just checking in even once a day

But if nobody else is available then I'll certainly do it. But if that's the case I will need very clear instructions on how to gather the Intelligence that HUSch does every turn.

Make a save during the turn (before enter) and send this to me. I can make the intelligence after my return.

So who is playing the next save?

Is it me? That should be fine - we're working all weekend, so I'll have access to my BtS computer each day.
