BADESS World Map Scenraio Mod for AND

The biggest hold-off right now is that I need to finish a AND-game so I can install the latest patch (which would break my saves). And this again takes longer than estimated because there is so much stuff going on for me right now (not finishing the game is not an option :p).
So I find it hard to estimate when this game will be finished. By now I really don't know when I'll be able to release the scenario. I can totally promise two things however: It will come, and it will come before the end of the year. Sorry for the delay

No problem, as a modder, I know this feeling too well. I have had to delay projects since RoM games invest a lot of time and energy. I always think that the more games played, the better the end result will be; creating from theory always leads to flaws since modding/mapmaking is about tooling the game for humans, not the AI v. AI.

Sorry for my delays as well, it is kind of a ripple effect.

How's the scenario coming along SiLL?

Can't wait for this now. Any chance you can release a basic GEM map too with all your resorces place but without the CIVs?

When you get back to this SiLL, I added a few more civilizations: Akkad, Bangladesh, Colombia, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Switzerland, Venezuela, Yemen

Not sure if any will be worthy, just keeping you updated. Also, Faisal is an Iraqi LH, not Arabian anymore just in case it mattered.

Thanks for the update generalstaff.

I feel terrible for the disappoint I may have caused by not sticking to schedule - again, and I have not much of an excuse to offer except that I had other priorities set. Anyway, the project is not abandoned or anything and things are happening, but I won't be as foolish to give another date of release (people wouldn't take it seriously anyway I guess). Well to give something: I predict it to be ready somewhere in February or March.

But thanks for messages of anticipation, this is besides my own desire to play this scenario a nice secondary motivator in deed.

@Antmanbrooks
This wouldn't be any extra work for me besides putting it up here, so I don't see why not. Should come soon I think.

Well as long as it isn't dead I guess... But still this scenario will be real great once finished so yeah. That's what I have to keep telling myself I guess.

Are you still on target with your earlier prediction for a February/March release? Still got another 2 weeks or so :)

Any updates?

Guys, even if SiLL will be able to finish this map, I highly doubt that it will be of any use. The map is too big with too many civs to work up to modern era. And it's not a problem of computer specs; the problem is that CIV4 is already an OLD game with an OLD engine that can't support so many data. Playing on a giant map with AND+MegaCivPack is already impossible, IMHO, up to modern era. So even if the map will be finished, it won't be playable; of course no offence meant SiLL, I was supporting your great idea but after some test I made with MegaCivPack+AND+ different maps, I've come to the conclusion that such a computer Screwing and Scorching World Map Scenario won't ever work, exactly because it's too computer Screwing and Scorching. :(

Pfft 45* don't be such a naysayer! I'm curious to see how far my computer can get before it starts breaking down. I've played huge/giant RoM maps with 18 civs or so through the modern age without any issues. I'm curious just to see how far I can get with 78 civs :)

Huge maps shouldn't be a problem at all; I played a game with my wife with 32civs on a huge map up to the modern era almost without any issues. As for giant/gigantic maps with more than 32 civs, well, I don't know if anyone ever made it to the modern or future era. My pc is pretty old now but it's more than enough to play CIV4: quadcore q9450 @2.66 Ghz, 4 GB Ram, Win7 64 bit and 1GB video ram. The problem as I said is probably in the engine of civ4 which is an OLD game. Hopefully Sill will finish this map and I surely hope to try it and hope for everyone it will work; I simply doubt it but hey, dreaming isn't forbidden yet, is it?

Is the principal issue one of map size or number of civs? Because I'd actually be quite content, with Revolutions on, to start with 28 civs (
Spoiler :
Arawak, Assyria, Aztecs, Celts, Chinese, Dinnehih, Egyptians, English, Ethiopians, French, Germans, Greeks, Indians, Israelis, Japanese, Khmer, Koreans, Malinese, Mongols, Olmecs, Persians, Polynesians, Romans, Russians, Spanish, Sumerians, Vikings and Zulu
) on a Gigantic map and let the others develop and split off these progenitor civs. Could be an idea for a "lite" or "rev" version of the scenario, at any rate.
