Baseball Trivia Questions!

Who can answer these?

Which pair of brothers hit the most homeruns collectively in the majors?

Who has the most RBI in a season with less than 10 home runs?

What pitcher has thrown the most shutouts in a single World Series?

Who has won the most World Series games without losing?

Which two players hit .418 for the highest averages in World Series history in 13 or more games?

Since 1975, there have been two sweeps in the World Series that did not involve a NY team....name the teams involved and what year?

Alright those are the questions see if you can answer them. Good luck!:goodjob:

Q. Which pair of brothers hit the most homeruns collectively in the majors?
A. McGuires?

Q. Since 1975, there have been two sweeps in the World Series that did not involve a NY team....name the teams involved and what year?
A. Oakland swept the Giants in the Earthquake year (1988). And I think they also swept the Reds in 1976, but I'm not sure about that one.

Well for the 1975 one you were close(it is reversed for the second part)

First one you are way off..

I have no clue for the brothers. I used to have a book called "A Century of Baseball Lore". It was a full of interesting trivia (a bit like Jason Stark's ESPN columns)

Whomp and El Justo will know the others, I'm sure.

The Red Sox swept the Cardinals in the 2004 World Series.

Which two players hit .418 for the highest averages in World Series history in 13 or more games?
As a complete guess, Reggie Jackson and Paul Molitor.

The Aaron Brothers. (Hank and Tommie)
:goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: You got it!!! And that was my hardest question too.. Tommie only hit 8 homeruns in the majors, but hit the first home run in Atlanta. Joe Torre hit the second.

I have a book on the Top Ten in Baseball. That happened to be one of the categories.

1990: Cincinnati Reds 4 - Oakland Athletics 0.
2004: Boston Red Sox 4 - St. Louis Cardinals 0.

Alright this has got too be a player from the pre-1900 era....I'm thinking either Big Sam Thompson or Cap Anson. If not I have no idea.

hmm...this is usually my specialty.

i know that StL Cardinals 2B Tommy Herr knocked in well over 100 rbi's in '87 (i think) w/ less than 10 homers.

most shutouts in WS history: i'll take a stab and say whitey ford.

i'd have to dig a little for the others.
