Basic early expansion help please!

Working unimproved tiles is almost always a waste of time, as they hardly produce more than the 2 food the population eats. That first worker needs to arrive as soon as possible; the payback is fast.

Exceptions:
-A race for early religions, where immediate commerce is critical.
-A crowded map with bellicose neighbors, where immediate defense is critical
-Maps with double-bonus tiles (floodplain/cows, e.g.). An unimproved 3/1/1 tile is worth working.

Hans, do you mind running a comparison between
1) worker first, then warrior
2) warrior first (until you hit size 2), then worker (pop rushed asap) ?
I think you could use a few different settings, like
- oasis / FP city = heavy commerce city
- hills + food bonus = heavy production city,

I would do it myself, but I'm at work, and I know you do these things quite often and very well.
I'm pretty sure the outcome would look like :
- more commerce in 2)
- worker + warrior sooner in 2)
- further growth slower in 2) (worker 2/3 turns later + whipped pop)
